Building A Local Area Network (LAN) : 1. Let's Get Physical

This document provides instructions for building a local area network (LAN) by connecting multiple PCs together using a network hub and category 5 cable. It describes the necessary hardware, how to configure the network interface cards and network settings on each PC, how to set up shared folders to enable file sharing between the computers, and how users can then access files on other PCs on the network. The overall goal is to create a peer-to-peer network that allows resources like files and printers to be shared across multiple machines.
