Nanowrimo
by Tai Do you want to write a book? Do it in November. November is nanowrimo. It means if you nish your book in a month, you get your book published, 5 free paper back copies, and people can buy your book on amazon.com. If you win, you get your own hardback cover. Isn't that cool? But its hard. You have to make a word goal like mine, which is 100 words a day. After it is done, you have to edit it and edit it until it is perfect, but you have got till April. Then you send it in and they give you 5 free copies. You can even have writing buddies and you can see how they are doing. So are you up for the challenge? Go to http://nanowrimo.com.
Language Bloopers
by Justine Once upon a time there was an American man who came to Japan and didnt know any Japanese words. He went to a baseball game and learned the words, ore, ore, ore which means me, me, me. Then he went to a restaurant and learned the words naifu to fouku which means knife and fork. When he was leaving, he learned the words, arigatou gozaimashita which means thank you. On his way home a policeman came over and asked in Japanese, Who killed this man? Since the American man didnt know any Japanese words, he said ore, ore, ore. The policeman then asked in Japanese, How did you kill this man? The American man answered, Naifu to fouku. So the policeman said Im going to take you to jail. The American man then replied, Arigatou gozaimasu.
Greek Day
by David One of the most fun and cool events at CAJ is Greek Day! Greek Day is a day when the 6th graders and 9th graders perform some Greek myths. Some are really funny, some are really cool, and some are romantic. In all, they performed 18 skits. In some of the skits the guys played the part of girls. They wore wigs and dresses. And in some skits the girls played the part of guys. They looked like they were having a fun time. I look forward when we can perform Greek skits!
