Adavanced Control Systems

This document outlines the course objectives and units of study for an Advanced Control Systems elective course. The course covers state space analysis, controllability and observability tests, describing function analysis for nonlinear systems, phase-plane analysis, stability analysis using Lyapunov's methods, modal control design using state feedback and observers, calculus of variations, and optimal control formulation and methods for minimum time, energy, and output regulation problems. The course references two primary textbooks on modern control systems theory and digital control and state variable methods.
