    I am a current a level student involved in producing a music magazine. My primary target audience is individuals between the ages of 16-21. My magazine will be hip hop/ urban based. I hope I could take a moment of your time to fill in the following questionnaire so that I can have an insight on what features you look for in a music magazine. Please make sure to select/tick the answers that apply to you. General points Questions and instructions are illustrated in black Answers are in red

    Majority of the targeted audience like the idea of receiving free gifts with the issue, exclusive news and interviews and competitions

    10. State the artist and title of the magazine and explain why you like it Majority found the NME issue starring Rihanna most appealing. They said the layout seemed unique and unusual due to features such as the parrot. Others said that they chose the specific magazine because Rihanna is their favourite artist

    11. What would you like to see on the cover of a music magazine? In conclusion, majority said they would like to see one main and dominating image on the front cover. They also said they would like

    bright colours with an artists style such as Rihannas. They would like to see the basic conventions such as a Masthead at the centre top as well as a barcode allowing them to know the price of the publication.

    10. What contents would you like to see in this HIphop/RnB music magazine?

    In conclusion, majority said they would like to see a combination of everything however; they would like to hear a lot about the Latest gossip and news as well as general information regarding the music scene. They would also like to be informed about upcoming tours and gigs in their area. They would like to have a clearly visible contents page instructing where they can find the articles they are interested in most as sometimes music magazines have the tendency to be unorganised. 11. What would you like to see in a double page spread article that would feature in this magazine: Regarding the double page spread majority said they would like to see an interview with the artist/band laid out with bright and vibrant colours. There was a tie between having a main or several images. So I may have a dominant image that is supported by lots of smaller ones in the background. They are not fond of so much text as it begins to get boring after a while.
