2 Corinthians 6 Prepared by: Preacher Arniel AJ Avenido Intro: I-The Proponent of having a right yokeII-The purpose of having a right yokeIII- The Promise of having a right yoke- 2Cor 6:16b-7:1 Gods response toward a life that is sanctified, a life that is lived apart from the world and worldly companionship is a positive one. What are those promises? A) The promise of possessing1. I will dwell in them. 2. Really that is about His abiding in us, about His possessing us. 3. When we are saved we possess Him, but when we are separated and sanctified, He possesses us. 4. In other words the promise of God is to bring about change in our lives, to bless us and to cause us to grow, to be what He wants us to be. 5. When we are party to an unequal yoke our growth as believers is stunted. B) The promise of partnering1. I will walk with them. 2. In the Bible walking with God always intimates close fellowship. 3. There is an old saying that twos company and threes a crowd when we enter into partnership with the unsaved we have created an unscriptural, and unspiritual bond with a third party, and Ive got news for you God doesnt walk in threes. a. Amos 3:3, Can two walk together, except they are agreed? b. God walked with Adam in the cool of the day, he walked with Enoch, Noah walked with God, as did Job, and God walked with all Israel. 4. I wonder was there a time in your life when you sensed God walking with you, but that no longer seems to be the case? Could it be because of an unequal yoke? C) The promise of parenting-
I have decided to follow Jesus 1. I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, no turning back. 2. Though I may wonder, I still will follow; Though I may wonder, I still will follow; Though I may wonder, I still will follow; No turning back, no turning back. 3. The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me; No turning back, no turning back. 4. Though none go with me, still I will follow; Though none go with me, still I will follow; Though none go with me, still I will follow; No turning back, no turning back. I'm So Happy and Here's the Reason Why I'm so happy and here's the reason why Jesus took my burdens all away Now I'm singing as the days go by Jesus took my burdens all away Once my heart was heavy with a load of sin Jesus took the load and gave me piece within Now I'm singing as the days go by Jesus took my burdens all away JOY IS THE FLAG 1. From the castle of my heart Joy is the flag flown high From the castle of my heart When the King is in residence there 2. (So) let it fly in the sky Let the whole world know Let the whole world know Let the whole world know (So) let it fly in the sky Let the whole world know That the King is in residence there. Trust And Obey 1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Refrain: Trust and obey, for theres no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. 2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear, Can abide while we trust and obey. 3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, But is blessed if we trust and obey.
I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Here is a promise of parenting and good parenting is primarily about two things
1. Guiding children 2. Guarding children.
My friends when we create an unequal yoke we end up departing from Gods chosen path, but when we walk with Him He directs our path, where He goes we go, where He leads we
follow, and you will find this about his yoke His yoke is easy, and his burden is light! Conclusion: And really that is what this principle concerning the unequal
