    Ad Clerum Christmas 2012 Ordination 15 December 2012


    Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord Here is a taste of the Ordination at All Saints Pro-Cathedral on 15th December 2012. It was a great and Spirit-filled occasion and I thank all those who travelled to Polokwane for this momentous event in the history of our Diocese. It was particularly gratifying to have our brethren from Zimbabwe with us, as it forged a unity that we wish to make apparent to all in Southern Africa. Our sincere thanks go to the clergy and people of All Saints, Seshego for their hosting of this important Diocesan event, and their hospitality to our visitors from Zimbabwe. The servers and music were worthy of the Pro-Cathedral of our Diocese. Those ordained to the Diaconate were: Magudu Maxwell Nene (St Cyprian the Martyr, Atteridgeville) Charles Shadrack Maila (St Cyprian the Martyr, Atteridgeville) Elvis Mhinga (Pro-Cathedral of St Patrick, Mutare, Zimbabwe) Those Ordained to the Holy Order of the Priesthood were: Rev Fr Epheas Shingirayi Kondo (St Francis, Harare, Zimbabwe Deacon in 2009) Rev Fr Michael Anderson Pedzisayi Madanhi (St Francis, Harare, Zimbabwe - Deacon 2009) Rev Fr Tapiwa Bright Nyangoni (St Francis, Harare, Zimbabwe Deacon 2009) Rev Fr Godfrey Mokonyane Mathibe (St Peter, Mathibestad, Deacon 2006) Rev Fr Michael Mbuti Maseko (Holy Trinity, Mamelodi - Deacon 2009) Also Licenced to serve as an Assistant Priest under Fr Martin Magoleng in the Parish St Cyprian the Martyr, Atteridgeville, was The Rev Fr Vusimuzi Joseph Mosife, formerly of the Roman Catholic Church. He was warmly welcomed.

    Ad Clerum 12/12 December 2012 Now, that is what I call church growth!! Home-grown clergy for our people, with a passion for Christ and His Gospel. May their ministry flourish and their love of God be a symbol of hope to the communities they will serve. This growth, together with our new brethren in the North West Province shows the relevance of traditional Anglicanism in the Southern African community.

    The Dismissal, at the end of an excellent service. Other news of the Diocese: We request your prayers for Nthabiseng Moshoadiba, daughter of Fr Isaac Moshoadiba, who was admitted to hospital in Bethlehem with a serious liver problem. Congratulations to The Rev Canon Lionel Kuiper, appointed as a Canon of the Church on 15th December 2012, on the 36th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Holy Order of Priesthood. His has been an example of diligent and faithful service to us all.

    Congratulations to Fr John Selolo, appointed as Rector of the Pro-Cathedral of All Saints, Seshego, Polokwane, and Regional Dean for the Province of Limpopo as of 6th January 2013. The announcement of his appointment at the Ordination service was enthusiastically received by all present. Special mention and thanks go to Fr Paul Setati and Fr Phillip Sethowa for the sterling job they have done at the Pro-Cathedral since the time that Vicar General Raymond Ball left for retirement. The parish has been well cared for and they have been dedicated clergymen, worthy of praise. They will assist Fr Selolo at the Pro-Cathedral and its outstations. Fr Selolo has been given the task of spreading the presence of the Traditional Anglican Communion into the Limpopo Province.

    Fr Willie Meyers and his group of newly Confirmed congregants. All Saints Beaconsfield was a hive of activity on the weekend of 25th November, as visitors arrived for the Ordination from all over Southern Africa and a fine group of young people were made ready for their Confirmation and first Holy Communion Fr Willie Meyers and his wife, Beryl, worked tirelessly over the weekend and their excellent preparation of the Confirmation Candidates was clear to see. We express our heatfelt gratitude to them and their congregation for the success of this eventful weekend. The Church Militant:

    As we approach the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, let us always remember that following hot on the heels of that glorious celebration is the Martyrdom of St Stephen the Deacon (26th December) and the Slaughter of the Holy Innocents (28th December). Not everyone is glad to hear the Good News of the saving power of Our Lord Jesus Christ. 9

    In our own time, there are many Christian groups throughout the world who are under threat, especially from radical Muslim sects, and the colour of red at our recent Ordinations carries a two-fold meaning; the power of the Holy Ghost and the blood of the Christian Martyrs. We are called into battle for Christs sake, and not into comfort. The Armour of God is for waging war against sin, the world and the devil, and we must never forget it. Brothers and sisters, these past few weeks and months have been a privilege to live through, and the state of the church in Southern Africa and other parts of the Traditional Anglican Communion is better than it has been for a great many years. Before we pat ourselves on the back, however, let us resolutely take up our cross daily and follow where He, our Great Shepherd leads us, in humble submission and obedience. It is in a spirit of obedience that we will achieve His purposes for our lives and for our church. Thank you for the oportunity to share these great events in our Diocesan life with you. May Our Lord Jesus Christ bless you and keep you in this Holy Season In Christ
