Healthy Kids Day

Saturday, April 27, 2013
As a leading nonprofit strengthening community through healthy living, the Y holds an annual Healthy Kids Day event to teach healthy habits to families and kids while inspiring a lifetime love of physical activity. At a time when one in three children in the United States are overweight or obese (according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), developing healthier habits that include increased physical activity is more important than ever. YMCA Healthy Kids Day brings families and communities together to celebrate healthy living with a FREE fun-filled day of interactive games, family activity, giveaways and more. You can also get information about or register for summer camp, sports and other positive Y programs that support more than strong bodies - theyre designed to help shape kids character, too! At the Jersey Shore Branch YMCA, we know that parents struggle to find the time to incorporate more active play and healthier habits into their kids daily routine. Doing so doesnt have to require extra money or resources. Its as simple as making a play date with your kids, with two key requirements be active and have fun!

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
YMCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The YMCA works to ensure that regardless of ability to pay, we make it possible for everyone in the community to participate in our programs and activities. For that reason, our Y has a scholarship program to make our programs and activities more affordable. In previous years, the Y awarded over $250,000 in membership and program subsidies to those who could not afford the fees. If you believe in the mission of the Y and you believe in how the Y can help individuals and families in our community with improving their health, then please consider a donation to the Jersey Shore YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The Strong Kids Campaign is our annual program to fund the scholarship program. One hundred percent of the money donated goes directly to the benefit of children, adults and families in our community.
