Objective
SWBAT: 1. Recognize the short vowel sounds. (/a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/) 2. Identify the short vowels (a, e, i, o, u). 3. Produce two words that have a short vowel in them.

Accommodations
Vowel Sort Activity Page: -pictures may be cut out for student. Rather than drawing lines, the student will move each picture to the correct vowel sound they hear in the word. Computer Game: -If a student is having difficulty being able to play this game, please utilize a short vowel game located in the Short Vowel game bin in the classroom. This way, students will be able to hold the pictures and move them to the correct short vowel sound they hear.
-Call on a few students to share their answers. -Play the second YouTube video to review the vowel sounds again. -Before allowing students to go back to their seats, show them the game you will be playing on the website by using the teacher computer and projector. -Click on the favorite bar to access our website. -Click on our website. -Click on games -Click on #2 Short Vowel Review -Review with the students how to play this game. Do one example together. -Please instruct the students to go back to their computers and click the favorite bar to access our website. -Click on our website and find the Games tab. (*Please do this with the students on the teacher computer and projector) -Click on the Games tab and find Game #2. -Students should click Play and begin to play the game. -Make yourself available to help students. Check in on students to ensure they are on task. -Once everyone is finished playing, please show them how to log off the computers from the teacher computer and projector and head back to the classroom.
