SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT (AGAIN) Due to the damage that Mr. David C. Pack has done to several people during recent weeks, we feel that people need to have access to the facts behind these events to be able to evaluate what has really occurred. By commenting on Mr. Packs Updates since June 5th, we will clearly show various inconsistencies and misstatements that are being perpetrated on the people of God, resulting in further division and discord in God's Church. The facts need to be set straight in fairness to the injured parties, primarily Don Tiger and Robert Papay. These facts include the following: 1. Long before Don Tiger was hired, Dave Pack knew what was on the CDs. He mentioned to the RCG staff that he was very eager to acquire the CD program for RCG AND the associated library of WCG literature. 2. Don Tiger made it clear to Dave Pack and the RCG staff that TCOG and PCG owed him money for producing the CDs. Dave Pack felt it was a coup to acquire the CD program from them, and told this to the RCG staff numerous times. 3. Dave Pack publicly said that the HWA Trust fund (what ever it was to be legally named) to produce the CDs would be completely apart from RCG so that people who wanted to support the program (but not RCG) would be able to do so. Now he is telling these people to send the money directly to RCG even though no CDs will be distributed. 4. Currently there are three people on the staff of RCG, not including the attorney on retainer, people who donate their time, and Mr. Pack and Mrs. Pack. The original six staff members, and the next four employees hired, are all gone. The three currently at RCG are recent hires. All of the people who left have the same story to tell about their experience at RCG that Mr. Pack continually sowed discord, disdained people who questioned him, made frequent misstatements, made disparaging remarks about people who he felt should be sending in larger tithes and offerings, and engaged in various conspiracies against staff members when he wanted to sever them from the staff. 5. A key reason that ministers do not come into RCG is that he has been known for sowing discord and hurting the flock since his early days as a ministerial trainee in WCG. 6. Mr. Pack likes to characterize himself and RCG as being persecuted, but he is often the instigator of accusations and persecutions against others. Virtually everyone who has left RCG has been the target of mistruths and accusations that originated from Dave Pack. 7. Please be aware that some of the things we quote are no longer on the RCG web site as Mr. Pack has his Updates edited after posting. A very glaring point on this will be shown with the June 7th Update/Letter. Note, it wasnt even up for a month before it was edited. Lastly, the earlier updates have been removed as he doesnt have room for them with his new ISP (Internet Service Provider) domain host. All this said, let us examine the updates from RCGs web site for the 5th, 7th, and 10th of June, 2000 and compare these against some of the prior original updates. Since doubt has already been cast on the validity of the RCG web site contents, the reader needs to understand that the old Updates referred to are the original copies the web site at one time was backed up to CDs by the original RCG web master, Mr. Tim Mobley. We also save the Updates as they are posted, and have them backed up on external media as well, and, there is at least one other web master who made copies of some of the Updates as they were posted. So, if one wants to get the original Updates, all you have to do is ask. Now, here is Mr. Packs June 5, 2000 letter, with explanations, and pointing the reader back to the original Updates. Again, Mr. Pack had the Updates edited to remove all references to his original staff members, and

Update of June 5, 2000: June 5, 2000 Dear Brethren, A number of people have been calling and writing to ask what I am going to do with the CDs now that the Restored Church of God is not going to ever send them out. >> Let us start with Mr. Papay, who was fired over this not lying to those who called in. He was told, as was the rest of the staff, to tell people that they were out of the CDs. << Our reasons are doctrinal. >> His reasons might have a doctrinal spin, however, his reasons are political, having to do with Mr. Don Tiger. Mr. Tiger refused to allow Mr. Pack to have control over the CD project, OR, the trust fund. << They are explained in my sermonette entitled CDs, Compromise, Conflict and Conscience. >> In this sermonette, Mr. Pack states that he did not know what the CDs contained. For those of you at the Feast of Tabernacles in Grimsby ON in 1999, Mr. Tiger gave the stats on the whole CD project. Mr. Pack was in the audience, having arrived from the west coast site to be at the Canadian site for the last half of the FOT. Prior to this, Mr. Pack had told everyone on the staff about these CDs and that they were wonderful, in that they contained all this great literature. See Mr. Packs update from August 6, 1999 the group he met with was TCOG, where Mr. Tiger was leaving to join RCG at Mr. Packs invitation. The September 10, 1999 update discussed make up which Mr. Pack was changing so he could get the TCOG members to join RCG. The September 22, 1999 update is where Mr. Pack discussed Mr. Tiger and the CDs. In fact, if you will re-read that update, you will see that Mr. Don Tiger wrote part of it. Therefore, Mr. Pack cant claim ignorance as to the contents of the CDs! << First, let me say that under absolutely no circumstances whatsoever is the Restored Church of God going to keep the CDs from their rightful owner. We do not believe that we are their rightful owner. >> Mr. Pack knows that RCG nor himself, personally, is or can be the owner of the CD program. Mr. Pack explained to the staff at that time that TCOG owed Mr. Tiger $30,000-50,000 for doing the CDs. He also stated that Mr. Tiger had paid for this out of his pocket and now TCOG was stiffing him on it. As a result, he was going to assist the Tigers in moving to the Akron, OH area. << Heres the problem. Another party has stepped forward stating that, in fact, the CDs are theirs and not the property of the man (until recently was working here) who has been laying claim to them. This new party has produced substantial corroborating evidence that their claim is, indeed, valid. We are carefully investigating to determine the rightful owner. >> See the prior comment. Now with that established, Mr. Pack knew the whole story about TCOG and Mr. Tiger before he [Pack] assisted him [Tiger] in coming to RCG. (In fact, this is the same tactic that Mr. Pack perpetrated on Mr. Berkey when Mr. Pack had Mr. Berkey send RCG a check from the church that Mr. Berkey was directing. That check was approximately $30,000! At the time, Mr. Pack said he had no problem with letting Mr. Berkey continue to serve the people in the church as he had been doing, and maintaining it as a subsidiary type of organization to RCG. Later, Mr. Pack told RCG members that he had discovered that Mr. Berkey was running a church within the church. He [Pack] had known about this from day one!) In bringing the CD program into RCG, Mr. Pack was again trying to get his hands on the money it would bring in. Now that Mr. Tiger is gone, Mr. Pack is suddenly doing the righteous thing and checking into the true owner of the CD program.<< The new party that has recently come forward has been most gracious and accommodating by any standard considering the circumstances. >> Prior to this point, Mr. Pack did not have many kind things to say about these people in front of the original staff members, but now he is quick to use them to discredit Mr. Tiger << The other man has threatened to expose me in nauseating detail if I do not give him the CDs by tomorrow at noon. My choice is simple: accede to a threat and give the CDs to this man, even if they may not be his, so that a massive assault on my character will not take place or hold up and make a very careful decision. I can not allow the church or myself to be held captive to personal threats against us. I have no choice but to do what is right before God no matter the personal cost to me or the church. >> It needs to be noted here, WCG has sent two letters to cease and desist to RCG/Pack, per Mr. Ralph Helge. Prior to all this, Mr. Pack stated that he would

move to another country if that is what it took to produce these CDs. Meanwhile, Mr. Pack has told people that there are three suits pending against RCG, one from Mr. N. S. Edwards, one from WCG and one from an ISP (an Internet Service Provider). Weve talked to or emailed Mssrs. Edwards and Helge and both state this is flatly untrue. And the last time we talked with the account people with the ISP, they werent interested in taking RCG to court. So, Mr. Pack can say these things, which make him sound like a victim, but are simply untrue. << In Christs service, David C. Pack

Update of June 7, 2000: June 7, 2000 Greetings Brethren, The following fairly lengthy Update is entirely excerpted from our regular Member/Subscriber letter written yesterday. While I do not normally post this information on our website in an Update for everyone to view, I felt the material included here was a clear exception to this general policy. I hope everyone will read what is included here very carefully. Hopefully, you have already read the brief Update posted earlier this week dated June 5, 2000 (posted Monday night). New Booklet With this letter you will find my newest booklet entitled Should You Join The Restored Church of God? (Delays on my book There Came a Falling Away grew to be so many, since the writing of this book was completed, that I have actually fully finished two new booklets that you have now received before the bigger book has even gone to press.) This new booklet is being sent to everyone on our mailing list at the same time. I hope that everyone who receives it will read it very carefully. Anyone who comes with us in the future will be asked to read this booklet carefully as they make their final decision regarding whether or not to come with RCG. >> Side note here does any one remember Mr. Pack deriding any one because of their requiring prospective members to read a book and accept it as being valid? Something about Malachi? << You will notice that it is a fairly thorough checklist of all of the kinds of issues that people making this decision might be concerned with most. I have often said that we want everyone who comes with us to understand exactly what they are committing to in their decision to do this. It is my hope that even all of those who are already members of RCG will carefully read this booklet (perhaps twice) and be able to clearly reaffirm their previous decision to come with us. There Came A Falling Away I have lost count of how many times that this book was just about to "go to the printer" or it would "soon be on its way to you," etc. As mentioned above, seemingly endless delays have kept us from getting it to the printer on time. Mr. Jim Leighty is working extremely hard to finish the book so that it can go to the printer, perhaps, as soon as tomorrow or the next day. There is no question that Satan does not want this book to be released, and I suppose that all I can say, once again, is I can hardly wait. [I have just been handed the fully formatted version of There Came A Falling Away. It may now, in fact, go to the printer by tomorrow or Thursday just as suggested earlier in this letter! The printing process is expected to take up to three weeks.] "CDs, Compromise, Conflict & Conscience" Sermonette Of course, by now all of you have heard this Sermonette. As I said in the cover letter, I could have said a great deal more about why sending these CDs out would have been a terrible mistake. >> Part of this terrible mistake would be that anyone with the CDs would be able to verify if Mr. Pack was getting away from Mr.

Armstrongs teachings. Mr. Pack wants to be able to determine what Mr. Armstrong taught on which subject. << Not one member has raised objections and I am very encouraged about that. >> This is technically true. You see, Mr. & Mrs. Papay have been fired and disfellowshipped, so, there is no member objecting. << You are all aware that a CD of Mr. Armstrongs books, booklets and reprint articles in circulation at the time of his death is already under way. While this is a very special project, it is also an extremely large one as well and will take a significant amount of time and effort to be able to do it properly. If we do it correctly, it will be a very special treasure for all that wish to receive it. Im sure that you all agree. I suppose its possible that some who came with us primarily "signed on" because of the "CD project." >> Let us put this in a different light. Could this have been because Mr. Pack was also expecting to do a grab on the mailing list that Mr. Tiger would be bringing with him at the time he came on board? << This number would certainly be very few but it is another clear reason why I felt it so very necessary to write the booklet included with this letter. We have had people come with us for a variety of wrong reasons. While neither we nor people themselves can ever know their own heart 100%, this booklet is our sincerest attempt to help them know why they wish to walk with us. It is at this point that you may wish to stop and read the website announcement dated June 5, 2000. Website Difficulties & Changeover Some of you must have by now noticed that our website still occasionally (erroneously) displays a reference for those who may still wish to order the "HWA CDs." Clicking on this location sends you to where you may order them. We have had two different computer experts come assist our office, at considerable expense, to try to untangle why our computer does this, seemingly spontaneously, in such a way that when we delete it in one place it pops up in another. >> Would all of this being said have to do with the cease and desist letters from WCG? Meanwhile, as far as Mr. Pack is concerned, a computer expert is some one that knows how to turn one on and change screen savers. So, since he hired someone that does not know the layout or design of the RCG site, mirror sites, etc., it is no wonder he has these problems.<< It is almost as though our website has a hidden virus that causes this problem to reappear by some strange means. We hope to soon have this completely under control. It is in this regard that there are several problems that must be explained to you at this time. At the time the man on retainer resigned from our employ, we were in the middle of switching our website from his control in Chicago to our control here in Akron with another company we had obtained to host it for us. Upon finding tremendous resistance to this changeover, (for reasons I cannot, at this time, explain to you) we had to forcefully seize control of our website from his control. This caused us great problems, time and expense too numerous to tell you about in this letter. >> A bit of conjecture here. Mr. Pack has a penchant for blowing things out of proportion. Knowing that he was losing control of Mr. Tiger, he figured that he would have to commandeer the domain name from Mr. Tiger (who also runs a web hosting business). So, since Network Solutions has changed their method of controlling domain names, and since Mr. Pack doesnt understand any of this, he had to do some things to get the domain moved to another ISP. Also, now that he has changed ISPs, again, he has no clue as to what it is really going to cost. You see, he now has to get email boxes set up and get the disk space to hold all his sermons, etc. Check it out and see. He doesnt have room for all of the older updates and sermons. << I can tell you that Gods Church is now paying $30 per month for our service instead of $250 per month for the same service which we have been told was paying for some and maybe all of the other websites this man who was recently with us was hosting at the same place outside Chicago. >> This statement is only made to attack Mr. Tigers credibility. In fact, we predicted that RCG would move from Road Runner as soon as Mr. Tiger came on board, and he [Pack] would be happy to do it. Now, listen to what Mr. Pack has to say. << I am very thankful to be able to tell you that we are no longer paying more than eight times as much for this service. Everyone knows that "Mr. Pack doesnt know a computer from a wristwatch" and I guess I am rather easily taken advantage of in the technical area. I am sorry that a lot of you have had difficulty finding our website over the last almost two weeks or so, but we trust that the problems that we have been experiencing have now been resolved. I feel bad for the previous church this man was with because they did not own the domain name of their

church and therefore could not legally seize control of their site when this same man departed from them and came to us. They tell me that he now controls what was the website that they thought they controlled and, I must tell you, I never fully understood that at all. (I have never been to that website a single time.) They did not know he controlled it until he was gone. This is what they have plainly said to me. They had to actually establish a new website that included a similar but different name from the one that they had operated under for quite some time. I feel terrible that I and the Restored Church of God were totally unaware that this is how he was operating while he was with us and that another church was hurt as a result. I have deeply apologized to them and they have most graciously accepted our apology. >> Mr. Pack apologized to them for what? He had known all along about this stuff, because Mr. Tiger had to have told him about it as did the other ministers of the TCOG when he [Pack] was at a mutual conference. Further, Mr. Pack doesnt know what he is talking about here, as, an ISP owns a domain name while they are hosting it. If you dont pay your bill for service, the ISP does not have to release your domain back to you that is, allow you to move it to another ISP. Again, since Mr. Tiger was running a hosting service, he was, in effect, an ISP (Internet Service Provider). So, if you re-read this area of this update again with all this in mind, you can start to see the double speak here. << Herbert W. Armstrong Trust Fund This leads me to a somewhat parallel problem that we just learned of yesterday. When this same man came with us, all of you are aware that we had plans (announced September 15, 1999) to start a Herbert W. Armstrong Trust Fund that would be operated and controlled by (but funds kept separate from) the Restored Church of God. The Trust Fund was opened and a post office box was secured. This man told me we needed to have a separate post office box, and so I told him to go and get one for us. I thought this new post office box (sitting right beside the box with the number assigned to the Restored Church of God - - #23295 - - here in Wadsworth) was registered in the name of the Restored Church of God. I learned yesterday that it never was. We asked him to open this box shortly after he got here. He then registered it in his own name. No one was ever told this. We trusted him. Herein lies the problem. Just as when he left the previous church also retaining control of the post office box that they had entrusted to him, the post office informed us that he has complete control, and apparently always has, of all of the funds arriving there. I learned that I, as CEO and leader of the Restored Church of God, only thought that we in RCG controlled it. Boy, was I fooled. >> Yes, fooled by someone who knew not to let him [Pack] have control. This is what started the whole problem with Mr. Tiger. You see, at the FOT in Canada, Steve Thompson (a former staff member) told Mr. Tiger to NOT allow Mr. Pack control over the HWA Trust (or whatever it would legally be called). He explained to Mr. Tiger why. And so, what he said is indeed what has happened. Next, you do not have a CEO of a church, but you have a director, a trustee, a lead pastor, etc. Please take notice of this CEO stuff, because it is going to come back to haunt him. And it wont be because Satan is attacking him. Now, to continue, it was told us [the staff] prior to the FOT that Mr. Tiger would be handling this trust fund and that it would be separate from RCG. One reason was to keep RCG from being a target of WCG and a copyright suit! So that meant that Mr. Pack could not be a trustee on both boards if they wanted to keep things really clean. But, this is all legal stuff that only attorneys and CEOs can understand, right? Please, think about this as we go on. << I did think it strange that absolutely no money, whatsoever (not one dime), came into the Trust Fund since late April even though we had notified 8,000 households of its existence three weeks earlier (via his e-mail list). >> Ok, remember earlier we had said something about Mr. Tiger having a mailing list. Now, looking at the last paragraph as Mr. Pack wrote it, doesnt the start of this one seem a little out of sorts? How would he know this if the moneys were not under his control, or, were part of the books of RCG? << I didnt even really question the fact that the income to the fund dropped to zero until a month later and the resignation of the man who governed (and we now realize completely controlled and accessed it) the contents of the box, had already occurred. So, would all those of you who may still be sending checks to the Herbert W. Armstrong Trust Fund who are members of the Restored Church of God please stop sending them to Box 23283!! You may now simply send them to Box 23295 as you usually do your regular tithes and offerings. >> Sometime around December 1999 there was a split between two organizations. A letter was sent out by one Mr. Roderick Meredith where Mr. Pack castigated him for what he [Pack] called embezzlement. Here he [Pack] is trying to do the same thing. He does not have ANY legal control (by his own admissions) of the HWA trust fund moneys, so what is he asking people to do? Second, going back to the immediately preceding notes, how could

he know that the bank balance was zero, the cash flow was zero, etc., if the trust was not under his control? One must think about these things, because they add up to some problems that will be very telling by the time we get to the June 10, 2000 update/letter. Meanwhile, as Mr. Tiger was under contract to RCG, he was not an employee. There is a very distinct difference here under the law, but not in the eyes of Mr. Pack. << >> Now, the following is the immediately preceding paragraph as it has been recently modified, by RCG staff. << I did think it strange that absolutely no money, whatsoever (not one dime), came into the Trust Fund since late April even though we had notified 8,000 households of its existence three weeks earlier (via his e-mail list). I didnt even really question the fact that the income to the fund dropped to zero until a month later and the resignation of the man who governed (and we now realize completely controlled and accessed it) the contents of the box, had already occurred. So, would all those of you who were sending checks to the Herbert W. Armstrong Trust Fund who are members of the Restored Church of God please stop sending them to Box 23283!! THE HERBERT W. ARMSTRONG TRUST FUND ( THAT THE RESTORED CHURCH OF GOD THOUGHT IT GOVERNED) NO LONGER EXISTS! WE DO NOT INTEND TO EVER RESURRECT IT. The Restored Church of God will pay for all printing projects of any kind that we undertake! >> Notice how this was changed. Now you can see how some of the revisionist history is done by Mr. Pack. << >> We learned today (June 23, 2000) that a search warrant was served on Mr. Tiger. The complaint was filed on June 20, 2000 by RCG. If the trust fund no longer exists, as was shown earlier, and as Mr. Pack had no control over it to start with, why did RCG go to a Wadsworth Municipal court to file a complaint against Mr. Tiger? Again, here we have a faulty document, as it lists the complainant as the Reformed Church of God. It appears that even his attorney cant get it right. << In this light, it is interesting to note that the old Trust Fund was overdrawn by approximately $3,500, an amount that might now be difficult to recoup. >> Old Trust Fund? What are we talking about? Were there two of them? << Just before he resigned he told me he had overspent the fund. Of course, I am not privy to the amount that came in during the month of May that we might never know about. I am certain that we will have more to say about this in time to come. For now, I merely wanted to alert you to what has happened. "The Die Is Cast" I have carefully gone over a whole variety of quotes from my recent booklet "Should Accusers Be Answered?" just to encourage myself in light of the current onslaught planned against us (which was threatened to be launched yesterday at noon). I was going to refer you to key sections of the booklet to remind you of exactly what I predicted would happen whenever people leave us for other groups. The die is cast. Ferocious attacks will continue against us - - probably growing ever greater each time that they occur. The attackers now know that I will not answer my accusers. >> No, Mr. Pack does not answer his accusers, he writes booklets about/to them. << Yet I am left with the need to always try to inoculate people (whenever possible) against new attacks that we may suspect or even know are coming. Such is the case now. I strongly urge you to read this booklet once again, slowly and carefully. >> This is called setting expectations. We have a problem and it is like this. Then when the problem comes up, you remember that you were told it was coming. So, I (Mr. Pack) could not possibly be the cause of that problem, but am the champion protecting you from that problem. Yet, in many cases it is this messenger [Pack] who actually precipitates the coming problem. << Now lets talk about a remarkable phenomenon occurring in the church that we have never discussed in this way before. Have you ever asked yourself WHY Christ prophesied "offense, betrayal, hatred and lawlessness" would abound among His people at the end time? Do you see this kind of attitude going on in the churches of this world? Do you see it occurring in the WCG? No, we do not! There is but a fraction of this sort of thing occurring in the churches of this world in this same way. It is even likely that various ecumenical movements in the churches of this world will draw them even closer together as time passes and prophecy advances in Europe. This is already happening. But now lets consider something quite important! >> This is a

non-sequitor and a misdirection. Rather than explaining that many of the problems are caused by certain types of people (wolves in sheeps clothing ministers?, or, people who will use flatteries to lead Gods flock astray), we start an explanation that diverts your attention from where the real problem is. << What are the people in the Worldwide Church of God currently feeling? Also, are the kinds of attitudes being experienced among the splinter groups evident in the WCG? Absolutely not - - but why? The answer lies in the following. Ask yourself, how do they feel and how do they view their leaders? They feel enlightened. They feel liberated by new "truth." They feel thankful that they have grown out of previous "errors" that were taught to them by Mr. Armstrong. Correspondingly, they also feel quite thankful to the leaders there who have taken them in the direction that they have gone. This feeling even generally includes those former brethren who have left the WCG and headed for Protestant churches. They are filled with joy and even exuberance. Their future looks bright. The world now looks cozy and warm as they "discover" over one billion new "fellow Christians." The love they feel for their "new Christ" feels overflowing, at times. Oh, they may still have a bit of resentment hiding deep inside toward Mr. Armstrong (but this may even be overshadowed by sympathy for him or a feeling that he would have "come to see these things for himself given time"). However, generally they feel wonderful about the bright new path into new "truths" that they have embarked upon. The devil is also satisfied with where their journey has ended. For now, they have his "blessing," so to speak. Now lets turn the coin over and examine the people who have stood up (in full or in part) for the truth. We see an entirely different world! How do they feel? How do they also feel toward their former leaders? They feel betrayed. They feel lied to. They feel sold out. Sometimes they have been victims of this process several times. They are suspicious. They are mistrustful. They feel a need to "watch-dog" everybody. Amidst this already unstable picture we must add that there are tares, flatterers, false brethren, and even those who would "kill and think they do God service." Of those who are converted, we now know that the great majority are lukewarm. Let me tell you, we have just described what Christ understood 2,000 years ago would create a climate that is ripe for and rife with "offense, betrayal, hatred and lawlessness." All of this is the natural by-product of apostate leaders completely defecting from the truth and departing from God. Do you understand this? Now add the influence of Satan in a very different way from that described above. He comes armed with all of his "devices" as the "accuser of the brethren" and as a "roaring lion" toward all of the converted people in any of the splinter groups and he does not have an interest in "blessing" any of them. Do any of us doubt this? Prophecy tells us plainly that this will not change in any way other than growing steadily worse as time passes (II Tim. 3:13). >> Ok, now here Mr. Pack tells you all of this as in, Im not doing these things, Im protecting you, and Im going to stand up and take the bullet for my flock. The problem is, as was shown by GCG before they went under, and the original RCG staff, this man is the one that is sowing the discord and playing one person against another. And, after talking to various people who had been leaders of various WCG departments up to, and prior to, 1993, this man has a LONG history of this behavior. << I hope now that you can understand why I say that the group that is most fully holding fast to the entire Truth of God also lies most squarely in harms way and that the "die is cast" for all of us in terms of the attacks we can expect the future to hold. Only you know how you will handle these attacks as they intensify. This is yet another reason for my having written the booklet included in this mailing. The man who resigned openly bragged to another employee (just before resigning) of his training in "campaign tactics." He explained that he was "trained to be skilled in the ability to take anything he does or any situation that he is involved in and spin it in whatever direction necessary for his benefit and so that he will come out on top." He said he was "skilled in deflecting blame from himself and pinning it on others." I guess we should all "stay tuned" on this one and thats all that I can tell you at this time. This might be a good time to focus on I Cor. 3:18-20 where it says, "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness (quoted from Job 5:13). And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain (quoted from Psa. 94:11)." Do not be afraid to believe that God may dramatically intervene to protect His Church from enemies who threaten to attack it! >> This sentence and the prior paragraph are known in literature as foreshadowing. He [Pack] wants to show you how God is going to handle things, but, I cant tell you right now. And then comes

People who are determined to cause mayhem, confusion and destruction can do it as quickly as they can get to their computer and send it at the speed of electricity around the world. Not only has knowledge been increased (as Daniel wrote of the end time) but access to it has become instantaneous. It makes no difference whether that knowledge is good or bad. It is accessible immediately. This allows people who bend with every wind of rumor and attack to instantly go to pieces, get mad, demand answers and even quit well before the machinery of our office complex could ever react to such instantaneous attacks even if we were determined to try to do so. I cannot help but wonder if this is what Christ meant when He said in Luke 21:19 that, "in your patience possess you your lives." In a world filled with instantaneous knowledge carrying the potential for tremendous upheaval, etc., it is clear that only the patient know to wait for the real facts to come forth and correctly define what is happening. There is no doubt that the future holds many uncertainties that will strike us like "thieves in the night" when they arrive. Christs return will not be the only event that occurs "like a thief in the night." Other events - - many of them very bad - - will occur in the same way. There will be two common responses. One, to "in your patience possess you your life" or, two, go to pieces and just "lose it" often to ones own destruction. You alone must determine now how you are going to handle an endless sea of these kinds of "thief in the night" events that will strike all of us from now all the way through the time which Daniel calls "when many will be tried, purified and made white." No man can insulate you from this process planned thousands of years ago for the church at the end of the age (see Daniel 11:33 through 12:13). Certainly I cannot, and neither can any other man. I can warn you while at the same time recognizing that you have to survive these tests sent from God. Only you control the outcome that you will bring forth at the "end of the day" in this process. Building A Truly Loyal Staff Some will find it difficult to believe that we now have a truly wonderful staff. >> Any one care to go back and see how many times this has been said? Well, it would be the 3rd time in 12 months! One must really think about this. Why does this man keep losing staff members? << We really do. It took a year to reach this point but I think that we are there - - yet no one can ever truly be sure. Look at the size of the group that you meet with on the Sabbath if you are with RCG. It is probably very small compared to what you were used to. Do you now understand just how hard it is to find even a very small but complete staff of these same very rare people who will compromise nothing? Then they have to be strong enough to handle the stress of doing the Work of God at the very end of the age. The task of finding such people is seemingly impossible, but I do now believe that God has done it. There is no question that I didnt do it because almost the entire staff I selected last summer is now gone. The original staff was nearly all local. I thought I knew them. I trusted them and I reached for them, so to speak. Perhaps I was self-willed in some way. Far more people came with us immediately than I ever dreamed. I was almost immediately completely overwhelmed with work, and hiring decisions had to be made very rapidly. I chose those close at hand and familiar to me. >> So we have the local yokel syndrome of the WCG ministry showing through here. If they are local, they just arent talented. Ok, and having to make hiring decisions does that mean telling everyone that Bill Sheppard has this office, and John Holcomb has that office, and Tim Mobley will be in this office. And then less than a month later, this is all wrong. None of those three are here! And, we now have to edit the updates to fix this problem, but, how many of you in RCG got the tape where some of the office staff was discussed? Think about it. << Thank you all for your prayers and concerns and your many, many letters of support. I want to always tell you that they sustain me more than you can know. As I have said before, I read every single one of them - - and some of them twice.

Update of June 10, 2000: >> And now here we are at the June 10th letter. This is the coup de grace. Notice that this one isnt even signed! << June 10, 2000 ATTENTION:
Circumstances require that we make an important announcement on our web site. We are sorry that circumstances also require that this announcement be brief. We are also sorry that we even have to make this announcement. Local police arrested Donald H. Tiger on Monday, June 5, in Wadsworth, Ohio. We had nothing whatsoever to do with the charge or charges (whatever they were) brought against him in this arrest. We are told that Mr. & Mrs. Tiger are alleging that we did. We are told that this arrest pertained to matters outside of his involvement in the Restored Church of God. >> OK, why did RCG have to tell everyone about this? Ok, lets say that the RCG local congregation needed to know. Well, they could have been told via the round robin phone system that Mr. Pack has used in the past, OR, they could have been told in church. More importantly, how did he [Pack] know that the Tigers were saying these things? This would not be the first time that he [Pack] made an unfounded accusation. So, do we have more of the same here in an effort to further discredit his [Packs] enemies? << We understand that local authorities arrested Donald Tiger again on the evening of Wednesday, June 7, and placed him in the custody of federal marshals who transported him out of state. We had nothing whatsoever to do with the charge or charges (whatever they were) brought against him in this arrest. We are told that Mr. & Mrs. Tiger are alleging that we did. We are told that this second arrest also pertains to matters outside of his involvement in the Restored Church of God. We learned about each of these arrests after the fact. None of us in this office have the power to bring about local or federal arrests. Both of these arrests came completely by surprise to us. >> These two paragraphs, when viewed together, along with the prior update/letters tell us that there is more to this. 1. How did RCG know that Mr. Tiger had been arrested? You see, he had resigned and was no longer there! 2. How did RCG know about the second arrest? How did they learn about both of these after the fact so quickly? << >> Now, lets go back to the statements about problems with the TCOG. Lets go back to the original updates. There were some problems, which Mr. Tiger mentioned to the writer at the FOT, and Don said at that time that he had discussed them with Mr. Pack. They involved an invalidly issued subpoena. Now Mr. Pack has an attorney on retainer, one Mr. Craig Beidler. Remember that Mr. Pack said in his June 7 letter, Do not be afraid to believe that God may dramatically intervene to protect His Church from enemies who threaten to attack it! To be more accurate, Mr. Pack did the intervening. He worded his comment about not causing the arrests, but he certainly was quick to help the authorities find Mr. Tiger, and then to reveal Mr. Tigers problem to the whole church. Remember we said something about foreshadowing? Well, this is what that was all about. So, now he [Pack] says this was a surprise? Can one really say this was not contrived? <<

We are also now prepared, however, to make the following statement per instructions from our attorney and with permission from the local police. A criminal investigation is underway in more than one place, of a number of serious matters, that pertains to Donald Tiger while he was on retainer in the headquarters office of the Restored Church of God. We are fully cooperating in concert with at least one other church in all aspects of the investigation involving Donald Tiger. This is all we feel that we can say at this time. >> Let us put this into perspective. The police have arrested Don due to this business with the faulty subpoena. But in light of all that has been said, this whole thing has been seriously exaggerated by Mr. Pack in an effort to draw as much blood as possible. << If circumstances should require that we can and should comment further, then we will do so at that time. Just hours before Donald Tiger was arrested the second time on Wednesday night, Mr. Pack announced on this web site (please see June 7th Update) that "do not be afraid to believe that God will dramatically intervene to protect His church from His enemies." We believe that God has dramatically intervened in a way we could have never imagined. >> Remember, we showed you before this that Mr. Pack was doing foreshadowing. This is so he can say that God is protecting his flock, when the whole thing is a contrivance on his part.<< >>>>> Unsigned <<<<<

Conclusions: One of the most harmful aspects of this situation is that converted people who have come into contact with Mr. Pack have been divided. Individuals in RCG have been taught to distrust people from other groups, especially those who were once affiliated with Restored. We sincerely hope that those who are currently in RCG can see the danger of these attitudes that are being fostered by the leadership of RCG. Regards, Former Staff Members of RCG
