Analysis of Pre Test

- The document analyzes pre-test and post-test scores of experimental and control classes with 37 students each. For the pre-test, the average score of the experimental class was 31.75 and the control class was 37.02. - An F-test was conducted and showed equal variances between the classes. A t-test then showed no significant difference in pre-test scores. - For the post-test, the experimental class average increased to 43.78 while the control class increased slightly less to 42.56. Another F-test and t-test showed no significant difference between the classes in post-test scores. - It was concluded that the experimental technique of Cloze Procedure was

F count F table. It means that the both samples have equal variance. Thus, the analysis was continued by
using the t-test for equal variance. Therefore we used a formula:

The t-table (72) was found to be 1.66629 ( = 0.05; df = N1 + N2 2 = 37 +37 2 = 72)

two tailed test.
The t-count was compared to t-table. T count was found to be smaller than t-table. (2.14 1.66)

Conclusion
H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected. In other word, there was no significance
difference in pre test score average between the two samples. It means that the ability of
two samples were equal. Therefore, the experiment could be continued.

two tailed test.
The t-count was compared to t-table. T count was found to be smaller than t-table. (0.62
1.66)

Conclusion
H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected. In other word, there was no significance difference
in pre test score average between the two samples. It means that the use of Cloze Procedure
Technique was not effective for improving the second junior high school students in vocabulary
mastering. Therefore, it can be concluded that this experiment was fail.
