Dear Parents, We are looking forward to seeing you and your child at the conference this week. Please note that school begins at 8:30 a.m. this Wednesday and ends at noon. Thursday and Friday are no school for students because of conferences, but we expect your child to come with you to the conference. Tuesday is the field trip to the National Science Museum. Please send a snack, packed lunch and drink with your child. Thank you to the parents and students who are looking at the blog and commenting on it. Please remember to just use first names and even as parents I would appreciate you just use your first name. Language arts - During our short week, we'll be practicing reading strategies during Daily Five time. Check out the students' pumpkin poems on the bulletin board! They did a great job! Thank you for your help with your childs interview. The students are working on writing a letter of self-introduction to a class in Canada. Bible - We will continue looking at Jesus early ministry. The Bible memory verse is a short one for this short week. Mathematics - If possible please have your child practice the subtraction on IXL. There are several different sections. We are continuing to look at
subtraction and regrouping. Your child brought home a packet of subtraction stories that is due Tuesday, November 6th. Playing Spinning for Money, Addition Top-it or Name that Number would be great practice for all the students. Many also enjoy playing Pig. All of these are great for reinforcing math concepts.
