1500 Banners were made with LOK BHAGIDARI and were distributed to all villages (cost 150000) Distribution of 100000 Pamphlets among general people (cost 20700) 15 big Hoardings placed at prime locations in Urban areas (cost 150000) 20,000 Small Posters pasted at all public places in the district Information dissemination at Bus Stops and Rail Way Stations Spreading Public Awareness to the people present in the Krishi Mahotsav Campaign by loudspeaker mike on auto rickshaw in Urban areas during revision period Special awareness Campaign in Godhra on NO Pollution Day Scroll advertisements were displayed in local Network Channels for wide publicity in entire District

Awareness made through TEAM Vehicle with publicity posters. A massive campaign to educate the voters particularly direct approach of young people through District RTO authority.

Out of 36286 Form-6 Received, 21788 (60.04%) were female registration during current revision and 12722 (35.06%) were in Age group of 18-19 2404 young students were attracted with this activity and registered their name for voting. 300 students of colleges filed their Form 6 during the Campaign Voter Facilitation Center started at 11 Talukas and 1 Distrcit Place from were 295 New EPIC and 42056 Duplicate EPIC Issued and 1483 From -6 Received 876 Calls received on Helpline No. 241288 at Collector Office, Godhra

Our vote will shape our own world, Every action we take everyday determines what sort of country we want to live in, and shapes us. Voting is one such action. Voting is citizen's Fundamental Right and each and every person should vote to improve the world's biggest Democracy. India is the largest Democracy in the world. The right to vote and more importantly the exercise of franchise by eligible citizens is at the heart of every Democracy

1.1 Debate and other competition related to voting and its benefits, in Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools: Higher Secondary schools and Colleges consist of a sizeable population of young voters and by creating awareness amongst them we can help increase the voting turn out.
1.2 Essay Competition/ Writing Competition: The young voters would be attracted towards such competitions and this would solve our purpose too, topics of the essays would be like Voting; My right and my duty etc.
1.3 Cultural programs for Voter Awareness: People of India tend to attract towards cultural events and programs, we would use such programs as a platform for voter awareness wherein we can choose events in program related to Voter Awareness

1.4 Reading of Electoral Roll at Gram Sabha and Ward Sabha: This would certainly create interest and awareness in people related to voting.
1.5 Street Play and other short skits: This could well prove a very good step in rural areas where these skits and street plays are very popular, we would chose plays and skits with theme as voting and why to vote?
1.6 Short and Sweet Slogans used for awareness: These slogans would prove very useful in voter awareness as these will become a buzzword in the district, some of these are, Jo kare Matdan aeich che sacho Yuvan etc 1.7 Meeting with non officials/Political parties and other stake holders: This will help to develop a feeling of responsibility and also a feeling of confidence in the administration system which in turn would be the guarantee for the safe and fair elections

Mass appeal to the Voters All the sources and ideas used for mass appeal to the voters are listed under this point of the program.
2.1 Awareness through Print media and Electronic media: Electronic media is the fastest and the most reliable source of publicity and we will make apt use of this. Slogans and other important information would be advertised through this medium. All national and local dailies would be used for awareness spread 2.2 Display of hoarding, banners and slogans: Hoardings, banners and posters are a source of good advertisement since long time and we would make sure that proper use of this medium is done. Hoardings/Banners and Posters at major public places would be installed.
2.3 Distribution of Pamphlets at/Bus Stop/ Railway Station: Bus stop and Railway station, these two are the nerves of any place and we would distribute Pamphlets at these

2.4 Road Shows: This is a pretty new concept and very effective too.
2.5 Awareness through local cable network: Local cable network caters to mass population and we would spread awareness through this channel 2.6 Panchmahal's voter group on social networking sites such as Face book and Twitter: Social networking is the trend and also is the future and also it caters to all the age group equally so for spreading awareness this medium would also be explored and also this would be free and no cost would be associated with this.

2.7 We can cover the female votes of panchmahls through anganwadi workes / primary lady teachers/ sakhi mandals / women SHG's
2.8 We Can Cover the industry workers / laborers through DIC / Labour Unions & Labour Officers. 2.9 Through NCC, NSS Nehru Yuva Kendra and Principals Of School /colleges students of Panchmahal would be covered. 2.10 Through District Registrar all the cooperative societies and their members would be covered under the SVEEP plan 2.11 All Employees would be provided with postal ballots in advance 2.12 All Trade Unions / NGO's / Merchant unions / professional unions would be appealed to encourage their members to vote

Individual appeal to the Voters. This would be a very innovative step and also Individual would feel special and also looking at the efforts of the administration the voter would also think to vote.
3.1 A Letter of appeal to individual voters: A letter with an appeal to vote from district collector would be issued to all the voters in the district. This would build confidence in the voters and also make them informed about how important their single vote is. 3.2 Voter Pledge campaign: Individuals would be asked to take a pledge to vote and also a signature campaign would be started to increase voter participation in this 5 point program.
3.3 Use of SMS (short message service): SMS with appeal to vote to each and every voter would be sent which would also indicate them about their polling booth location.

3.4 A request to all the employees from Seniors to vote : Boss should lead from front by setting examples before subordinates, this adage would be a reality in this case and senior would request all the employees to vote
4 Voter Safety and Security Fear of Violence and anarchy/outlawry is one of the factors in some areas which are responsible for lower voter turnout. Voters would come out to vote if a safe and secure environment is provided to them to vote. 4.1 Proper Police Protection: Complete vigilance by Police personnel to ensure the safety and security of the voters is a must.
4.2 A March/ public parade providing information to the voters about safety arrangements during elections and this would also build confidence in the voters about their safety during voting. 5 Voter's Facilities and Amenities
In India many voters don't vote just because of lack of arrangements at polling booths, to improve this situation we need to ensure that basic amenities and facilities are met at all

5.1 Distribution of Voter Slip to voters by BLO/Know your BLO campaign: People mostly are confused about their Polling booths and other things at time of election, by providing them information under Know your BLO campaign we could ease their problems. 5.2 Online helpline for the voters: In this advanced computer age we need to advance our systems and procedure to match our speed with this advanced age, so online helpline would be introduced wherein anyone can log in and found details regarding voting and election.
5.3 Bulk SMS: SMS with appeal to vote to each and every voter would be sent which would also indicate them about their polling booth location.

5.4 A toll free Helpline Number: Number from where any voter can get any information regarding voting 24*7.
5.5 Special arrangements for handicapped people to vote: Wheel chairs and other useful facilities at polling booths for handicapped voters.
5.6 Separate lines for ladies for voting on D Day: Most of the ladies in urban areas don't come to vote just because they have to stand in long Q's to vote and that take a lot of their time. Separate Q's would solve this problem.

5.7 Proper sanitation and proper drinking water facilities: Some of the polling booths don't even have a proper sanitation and drinking water facility which is also one reason to avoid the voting .By providing these facilities we can hope to have increase in voter turnout. The above Data clearly shows that women are lagging behind in voting in Panchmahal District, In fact during every election women Voting percentage is lower than Men Voting Percentage.
Reasons for Low Voter Turnout in Women Voters Some Exemplatory reasons:
More often than not Indian Women are busy in their daily life chores and thats the main reason they don't go to vote or we can say they don't get time for voting. Due to purdah system prevailing in some communities woman's are not allowed to remove their veils and since for Voter I.D card photograph is mandatory it makes difficult for them to get Photo I.D card. Some women don't go to vote because of fear of eve teasing during voting. 48

Single lines for Men and Women both makes some women feel uncomfortable due to various reasons so they don't go to vote. In Urban areas women tend to ignore Voting due to Lack of Interest and laziness on the D-Day. Woman are use to go to polling booth in groups, they usually don't come when they are alone. The level of awareness amongst the woman voter's regarding voting is very less.

Separate line for men and women for the comfort of women voters. Sakhi Mandals/Primary Lady teachers/Asha workers and other active female groups will mobilize the womens and encourage them to vote. Lady polling officers at polling booths for ease of women voters of the communities where purdah system prevails . Vulnerability mapping, identification of critical polling booths and exercise of confidence building of the residents residing near by these Vulnerable and critical polling booths. Massive awareness program to aware woman voters about their voting rights.
