Academic Expectations It is expected that all work submitted (papers, analyses, quizzes, examinations, etc.) will be the students individual work. Plagiarism will not be tolerated, and all means (including electronic) available to the faculty may be used to uncover it in any form. It is intended for students to refer to journals and other relevant outside sources, evaluate their findings in the light of current scenario, draw appropriate conclusions from their research, and then present their conclusions in a straightforward and convincing manner. Reference to resources on the Internet (with proper citation) is acceptable, but copy and paste IS NOT acceptable. The English language is important in the ICT industry, and it is important in this class. Grammar, usage and spelling in all student work will be graded.
Term Project A significant part of learning of ICT will occur through a term project. Students will also choose a theme/problem and write their research report by proposing a set of recommendations for solving it using ICT. Course Contents

Research Report Checklist (Information Communication Technology) M.Phil Education, Course Facilitator: Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Sharjeel, FELS Gulshan
All students enrolled in ICT at FELS are required to compile a research report using following information. A. Introduction Adequacy of the research problem in ICT (is the problem research-oriented?) Background of the study in ICT (are there references/models to support it?) Problem statement in ICT (is the problem clearly defined?) ICT-related research variables (are the variables well defined and related?) Research questions (are they related to research variables?) Purpose of the study (is the research purpose related to research questions?) Justification of the study (how does this ICT study measure/ evaluate the problem?) Scope of the study (who will benefit directly/indirectly?) Delimitations of the study (how is the study restricted/limited?) Basic assumptions in the study (what are common assumptions before research?) Key terms in the study (what are the major terms in this ICT-related research?) B. Review of Related Literature Selection of Literature (where will the researcher select the literature from?) Give at least10 references in your research report. Comment on the writings and experiences of writers in accordance with your problem. Ensure relevance of citation & references (how closely related are they?) Ensure variety of literature sources (is the study based on only one ICT-related theory?) C. Research Design Methodology of the study (what methodology will the study employ?) Target population (who will the results be generalized upon?) Sampling technique /sample characteristics (sample selection criteria. Give information?) List of requirements (what materials/resources did the researcher require study?) Instrument developing/constructing (how will the researcher develop the instrument?) Research hypothesis (what are the hypotheses developed to test and what ensures them?) Pilot study (when and how did the researcher conduct the pilot study?) Instrument reliability (how will the study ensure reliability in the study? Instrument validity (what are the instrument content, criterion and construct validity? Instrument administering (how will the full scale instrument be administered? Plan of data collection (what method was used to collect data from the participants?) Inclusion/exclusion criteria (how were the responses included and excluded in results?) D. Data Analysis Plan of data analysis and testing techniques (how will the data be analyzed?) (what tools?) E. Discussion (Findings, recommendations & conclusion of the study?) F. Legal & Ethical Considerations (what legal & ethical consideration were there in the study?) G. Researchers Profile (How does the researchers profile justify the study in this direction?)
