EBSCO Publishing Contributing Writer and Editor (Jan. 2012 ) Served as contributing writer and bylined editor on two Reference Shelf books, Conspiracy Theories and The Arab Spring, selecting content to license and authoring between seven and eight 2,000-word editors intros per volume. The H.W. Wilson Company Editor, General Reference (Oct. 2007Dec. 2011) With merger of H.W. Wilson and EBSCO Publishing, helped coordinate logistics so The Reference Shelf could still be published; liaised with EBSCO executives and staff to identify and address potential issues. Headed the General Reference Department, managing permanent staff of two assistant editors and a dozen freelance contributors. Coordinated all phases of editorial production, from initial research, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading, to layout, permissions acquisition, fact checking, and graphics, for well-reviewed Reference Shelf series, consisting of six 200-page general-interest anthologies annually, serving as bylined editor once or twice per year. Organized redesign of The Reference Shelf imprint, overhauling layout and software to present sleeker, more up-to-date product.
