XPSWMM

This document summarizes the process of importing flood analysis results from the xpswmm software into the UC-win/Road software. It describes how xpswmm is used to generate representative models of flood simulations, and how the results files can then be imported into UC-win/Road to view the flood status at different times in 3D. The import screen options include selecting the output time result file, setting the output type and coordinate system orientations. This allows flood modeling results to be dynamically linked between the two platforms for visualization and analysis.

xpswmm is flood analysis software which is available for generating representative models of, then simulating flow and water quality in, rivers or sewerage systems. Export the depth results as a text file for each available time step, where each file contains the depth for all points in the grid at that time. The tool reads these text files.

When the plug-in tools are used, the position taken by the results files are determined by the project they're imported into. From the main menu select -[Option]-[Import xpswmm result data] and the import screen will appear. Select the results file, set the options and then click "Import" button. Each file is registered as a separate 3D model in UC-win Road and arranged automatically. Ab u 3 mo e g n r t d ot D d l e e ae When the results file from xpswmm is imported into UC-win/Road as a model, it uses a 3D model generation and arrangement function which has been added to the SDK this time. The results file is read as a twodimensional array, adjacent apexes are triangulated, the model is separated into the contours specified in the import screen and the level set to the depth at its center of gravity. When it's been imported as a 3D model, these contours will be the layers of the model. Also, as the terrain elevation is taken into account when calculating the elevation of each apex of the model, it is arranged above the terrain automatically after loading. The model can be edited and displayed the same way as any other model in UC-win/Road. E f c s fe t When importing the models for each output time using this tool, you can see the flood status for each time in VR by using the script function of UC-win/Road. If the landscape is created beforehand, you can see its state in three dimensions. F t r De eo me t u u e v lp n Import Velocity / Vector / Hazard Dynamic linking
1) Select result file : Select the output time result file exported from xpswmm. Multiple selection is available. 2) Option setting - Select output: Select output of UC-win/Road model or LandXML file - Direction of X-Y: The coordinate and depth of each mesh position is exported in the results file. The direction of X and Y axes can be selected from south-north or east-west. Also, normally the model is arranged in the center of project and the position can be changed from center by using offset. - Depth direction: The direction of the depth value can be selected from upward or downward. - Contouring: A function allowing the depth to be contoured and color coded is available.
