DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


This position is responsible for expert level performance in specific areas related to Vivid Solutions Inc.s provision of technical or business solutions to clients. The customer base consists of public and private sector agencies and businesses employing diverse information management environments:

TECHNICAL
Provide expert level programming. Provide expert level abilities in database design, development, and enhancement within either the oracle DBMS or the MS SQL Server DBMS. Assist with process, data and object modeling in a variety of application and database environments. Contribute to systems architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement. Maintain currency and develop greater expertise in industry leading information management technologies.

PROJECTS
Work as project team member during end to end system life cycle development of major projects. Lead minor projects and assists junior level staff with minor projects. Provide technical input to risk analysis and change control. Accurately report project status to senior project team members.

BUSINESS
Present a professional image in conduct, attitude and attire. Assist with the development of client information management standards and evaluation of technology trends. Contribute to business area assessment, user needs analysis and business systems design. Assist with comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and preparation of business cases for new projects.

SUPERVISORY
Assist and mentor junior level Vivid Solutions staff to ensure they are meeting project deliverables and timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS
MANDATORY
Minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognized technical diploma in Computer Science or related field, and four years demonstrable experience at the intermediate level in the information management and systems environment. Provide a confirmed working history that illustrates excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. Illustrate proficiency in both verbal and written communications. Possess a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload in order to meet project milestones, implementation deadlines and the like. Demonstrate an expert level of knowledge and experience in: Application design, development and implementation of medium to large database projects. Data management methodologies, technologies and standards. Ability to define and resolve complex technical problems in heterogeneous information systems environments. Possess a sound working knowledge of, and significant hands on experience with, at least two of the following: Java utilizing J2EE. Microsoft .NET. Oracle Application Development (Forms and/or Reports). Database design, development, and enhancement within either the Oracle DBMS or the MS SQL Server DBMS. Spatial Data Management Technologies. Strong skills in WEB application development are essential.

DESIRABLE
Desirable skills include: Expert level skills in data modelling. More than three years of experience with process and object modeling. An advanced level of experience with technical architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement. A proven ability to adapt to emerging industry leading information management technologies.
