Surveying

Surveying is the technique of determining positions and measurements on the Earth's surface, usually to establish boundaries and maps. It involves measuring horizontal distances, elevations, directions, and angles using instruments like theodolites, total stations, levels, and rods. Common types of surveying include land surveying to establish property boundaries and construction layout, as well as topographic surveying to determine terrain contours for mapping.

Surveying or land surveying -is the technique, profession, and science of accurately determining the terrestrial or threedimensional position

of points and the distances and angles between them. These points are usually on the surface of the Earth, and they are often used to establish land maps and boundaries for ownership or governmental purposes. -The measurement of dimensional relationships, as of horizontal distances, elevations, directions, and angles, on the earth's surface especially for use in locating property boundaries, construction layout, and mapmaking. - the practice of measuring angles and distances on the ground so that they can be accurately plotted on a map. - a branch of applied mathematics that is concerned with determining the area of any portion of the earth's surface, the lengths and directions of the bounding lines, and the contour of the surface and with accurately delineating the whole on paper. - Surveying is the measurement of an area. The most common surveying is done on areas of land where people intend to build a housing development.
