The products name is serif because even though it is aimed at men, women should buy it for them, and it seems for formal than just plain The products name is underneath the slogan, right next to the product which makes them look back at them when they want to buy it.
The man in the ad is fit, referring to being a man. The man isnt overweight or too skinny. The perfect image for a man. The man is standing upright, presenting that hes confident because he uses the product and holding it in glory. Its random, possibly because when youre a man, you do things spontaneously but with the right attitude. The background is a beach, establishing a relaxing mood. Suggesting that the product gives you relaxation.

The slogan Smell like a Man, Man is sans-serif because it is aiming it at men, at men arent fancy. Normally, the slogan is underneath the product name, but in this case the slogan is more important to image than the name. The man isnt representing Old Spice, he is representing being a Man. The size of the slogan is average since the slogan has to be smaller than the products name and it is right next to him, maybe to support their evidence of being a man.

He is sitting on a horse, suggesting that he is wealthy and wanted because he is using the product and is helping him get somewhere in life.
