In 2006, there were 3,451 total housing units completed in Montgomery County, Maryland. The majority were single-family homes (1,082), followed by multi-family units (1,751) and townhouses (618). The planning area with the most completions was Clarksburg with 594 units, representing 17.2% of the county total. Gaithersburg City had the second highest number of completions with 447 units.
