Required/Preferred Qualifications PhD in Chemical Engineering with a thesis topic related to heterogeneous catalysis Preferred: a strong background in structural

characterization of inorganic catalysis and training in analytical methods for evaluating performance of catalysis is required. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with a strong academic and publication record and to those who have demonstrated strong communication and writing skills. Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to help develop and advance protocols for catalytic testing and mechanistic studies of catalytic reactions. The duties will include reactor set-up and design and the use of chemical characterization and spectroscopic probes of catalyst structure to determine catalytic rates and reaction pathways. The responsibilities will also include presentation and assisting in the preparation of reports to the sponsor as well as supervision of graduate and undergraduate students. Expected starting date: September 1, 2012 Program/Unit Description See website at www.cems.umn.edu Application Instructions References need only be a list of three references with contact information.
