Compressor Reciprocating

A reciprocating compressor uses pistons inside cylinders to compress gas. The pistons are connected to a crankshaft via a connecting rod and crosshead, and move back and forth in the cylinder to alternately intake and compress gas on the suction and discharge sides of the cylinder. The main parts of the cylinder assembly include the piston, piston rings, cylinder liner, suction and discharge valves, valve cages and covers, and associated components like distance pieces, packings, and valve nests.
