1. Hardware and Software required: 1.1 A personal computer or laptop with operation system Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. 1.2 One USB Data Cable (or USB Cable with USB-to-Serial Adaptor) supplied by our company.

1.3 Driver for USB Data Cable. 1.4 Updated Firmware Program (for example, GT30-V1.32-N.exe). 2. Run PL-2303 Driver Installer to install the driver for the USB Data Cable. Note: PL-2303 Driver Installer is in the folder USB-232 Driver in the CD. 3. Connect the USB Data Cable (or USB Cable with USB-to-Serial Adaptor) with your computer and open Device Manager. You can then find Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port as the following picture shows.

Note: Remember this Com number. It is COM3 in this example and it would be COM4 or COM5in your computer. 4. Open the updated firmware (for example, GT30-V1.32-N.exe) and then select the correct COM Port as shown above. Check Auto; Click the Open button; Note: The updating steps are as follows: 1->2->3; Clear is to clear all the contents in the window.

5. Turn off the tracker (GT30, GT30i, GT60, VT300, VT310, VT400, MT80i, MT88, MT90, MVT100, MVT340, MVT380, MVT600, T1 or other future devices, GT30 is used in this example) and connect it to your computer by the USB Data Cable (or USB Cable with USB-to-Serial Adaptor).

or 6. Press and hold the SOS button and then turn on the device. All LEDs are on.

Note: If any LED is off or flashing, please redo steps 5 & 6.

7. Update Starts.

8. Update Complete.

Note: If you failed to do the update, please redo steps 5 & 6 & 7. Click Close and remove the device.
