Algebric Representation of Pairs Of Linear Equations : The general form of a pair of linear equations in two variables is:
a1x + b1y + c1=0, a2x + b2y + c2=0
Solution of a Pair of linear equations in two variables: A pair of values of x and y satisfying each of the equations in a given system of Linear equations in two variables.
Inconsistent system of linear equations: A system of linear equations in two variables is said to be inconsistent if there is no solution
Consistent system of linear equations: A system of linear equations in two variables is said to be consistent if there is at least only one solution.

Cross-Multiplication Method
SUBSTITUTION METHOD
Step 1: Find the value of one variable say x. Step 2: Substitute the value of x in the second equation. Step 3:Solve the equation to get the value of other variable say y.
Elimination Method
Step 1: Multiply the equations by non-zero number to make the coefficients of a variable x equal. Step 2: If numerically equal coefficients are opposite in signs then add or if same, then subtract them. Step 3: The resulting equation is linear in one variable. Solve it to get the value of y. Step 4: Put the value of y in any equation to get the value of x.
Cross-Multiplication Method
Let's consider the general form of a pair of linear equations.
To solve this pair of equations for & using cross-multiplication, we'll arrange the variables, their coefficients and the constants as shown below
