Basic Techniques
Note entry: Select measure or rest in score Press N (for note entry mode) Select rhythmic value (numbers 1-9) Select pitch (letters C-B) Press Escape twice Select measures: Select one measure by clicking inside it (a blue box will appear around the measure) To select multiple measures: select the first measure, then hold down Shift and click in the last measure Copy and paste music: Select measure or multiple measures Press Ctrl+C (C) Select destination measure Press Ctrl+V (V) Add dynamics: Click on the Dynamics palette or press L Click and drag the dynamic to the appropriate place in the score Add articulation: Click on the Articulations & Ornaments palette Click and drag the symbol to the notehead When the notehead turns red, let go Create triplet: Select rhythmic value that is full duration of triplet (ie. quarter note) Press Ctrl+3 (3) The triplet bracket will appear and you can type the letter names of the notes
