How To - Setup A Serial Console Connection Using Hyper Terminal
You can connect a serial console to the Serial port of any of the Cyberoam appliance models. You can use the HyperTerminal terminal program, which is included with most of the versions of Microsoft Windows, to log on to the Cyberoam console. You will need a console cable (cable having a 9 pin DB supplied with the Cyberoam appliance) to connect the console to your Cyberoam. Follow the below given steps to connect Cyberoam using the serial cable: 1. Physically hook up the one end of serial cable RJ 45 connector (cable supplied with the Cyberoam appliance) to Console port on the front panel of your Cyberoam and hook up other end to the PCs serial connection. 2. Launch HyperTerminal (From Start Programs Accessories Communications HyperTerminal).
3. Create a new Connection by specifying name, communication port and COM port properties. Set Location information as per your requirement if configuring for the first time
Configure the terminal client communication parameters as: Bits per second: 9600 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Flow control: None
4. Once the connection is successfully established, specify Cyberoam CLI password at the prompt.
5. After specifying the password, press Enter and you will get the following screen:
