Activity
Review all the different types of Orientation views and review how to move the part in the graphics area. Then create a cross-sectional view.

Instruction
1. Select the Orientation, Navigation and Sections view. a. Open the L-Bracket part provided. b. Go through each orientation view.

2. Move the part. a. Rotate b. Pan c. Roll View d. Zoom 3. Cross-sectional view a. b. c. d. e. Click Section View. Select the plane from the Section View Property Manager. Click and drag the arrow to the desired depth. Click OK. Click Section View once again to exit the Cross-sectional view.

Create an L-Bracket part. The details and dimensions are provided in the following drawing:

1. 2. 3. 4. Create the L-shaped sketch on the right plane. Extrude the sketch into a 3D part. Add the Fillet feature by using Fillet Tool. Create two small holes by using the Hole Wizard. a. Click Hole Wizard under the Features tab on the Command Manager.

b. Under Hole Type, click the Hole icon. c. Under Hole Type, select ISO standard. d. Under Hole Type, select Drill Size as the type. e. Under Hole Specifications, select 6.0. f. Under End Condition, select Through All. www.SolidWorks.com/education

g. Click the Positions tab on top of the property manager.

h. Place two holes on the bottom plate. i. Constrain them with the Smart Dimension tool. j. Click OK. 5. Create one large hole on the L-bracket using the Extruded Cut tool. 6. Remove the corners of the L-bracket by using Extruded Cut.
