Here Are Some Formats You May or May Not Know But Will Be Discussed in This Help-Sheet

The document discusses several common image file formats: JPEG - Used mainly for photographs and supports a wide range of colors with high compression ratios while maintaining quality. BMP - An uncompressed format invented by Microsoft that is not recommended due to large file sizes. GIF - Supports animation and uses 8-bit color with 256 color palette, so some colors may not display accurately. TIF - Raster format that produces sharp images but results in very large file sizes, best for scanning but not widely supported by web browsers. PNG - Similar to TIFF as a raster format but is platform independent, allowing use without certain programs, though files can be large in size.

TIF

Tif stands for Tagged image file It is a raster file so it saves its images in pixels this has it up and downs because with this the image is much smoother and sharp but it also makes the file huge. Web browsers also do not support this file but scanner work best with them
