Question: Difference Between Bit Rate and Baud Rate?

Transmission involves one-way communication through a physical channel like a signal, while communication is two-way sharing of ideas or information. Bit rate refers to the number of bits transmitted per second, while baud rate is the number of signal shifts used to represent those bits, where baud rate equals bit rate divided by the number of bits each signal represents. NETBIOS allows applications to send and receive I/O requests from remote computers by hiding the network hardware, while NETBEUI is a Microsoft and IBM transport protocol designed for small subnets that provides services similarly to NETBIOS for communication within a LAN.

Question. Difference between the communication and transmission?

Answer:
Transmission is refers to one way communication, where as Communication refers to 2 way communication. Transmission means the physical movement of information like signal, clock and synchronization. Communication means share the idea or information through communication channel.

Question: Difference between bit rate and baud rate?

Bit rate is the no of bits transmitted during one second Baud rate refers to the number of signal units per second that are required to represent those bits. Baud rate = bit rate / no-of-bits represented by each signal shift

Question: What are NETBIOS and NETBEUI?

NETBIOS is a programming interface that allows I/O requests to be sent to and received from a remote computer and it hides the networking hardware from applications. NETBEUI is NetBIOS extended user interface. A transport protocol designed by Microsoft and IBM for the use on small subnets. NetBIOS: NetBIOS protocol is used for communication within a LAN and operates at the session layer of the OSI layer and provides three type of services namely Name service, Session service and Datagram service. NetBEUI is supported by LAN manager, LAN server, Windows 95 and Windows NT and provide services similar to destination.
