Installation of Active Directory/ Creating a Domain Controller (DC)

Pre Requirements:a. One fresh computer with Windows 2k8 workgroup Environment b. Assign a private IP Address and Preferred DNS c. Preferred DNS should be the same of server IP Example : IP Address : Subnet Mask Default Gateway : Preferred DNS Alternate DNS 10.0.0.1 : 255.0.0.0 ---------: : 10.0.0.1 -----------

Procedure:
Go to server Windows 2008 Open Run Command type dcpromo press enter It shows a Welcome screen of AD Installation Wizard Click - next next Select Create a new domain in forest Ibm.com Forest function level windows 2000 Domain function level windows 2000 Data base of Ad path it shows Click next It will ask for password ( it needs when you backup your ad) Export settings ( not compulsory ) If exports that file it will be useful in the future for AD installation in core server or un attended installation purpose Finish the wizard.
