Effectiveness of Video With Digipak and Magazine Advert
Effectiveness of Video With Digipak and Magazine Advert
In order to further promote my music video, it was essential that a Digipak and magazine advert was created in order to publicise our group The Insatiables. To do this we made sure that we chose our final digipak and magazine advert based on what people preferred as well as what themes were consistent to the video itself. If the colours, fonts and images were too different from the video then we would not attract the audience as much as possible.
This shows our final digipak in which we decided to use, in this you can see the different bright coloured dresses that were shown in the music video, this shows the typical code and convention that we aimed to portray. It also shows a black and white image and in the music video we included scenes that were also in black and white showing continuity. The images shown are both individual and group based so that you can see each member of the group as well as highlighting the different colours we are wearing which connotes different personalities. The connotation of different personalities can be related to our song Ego as the lyrics and meaning of the song reflects a different personality.
This magazine advert also follows a similar theme as that of the digipak, with the same colours of pink, black and again the different coloured dresses. The dresses are eye catching and straight away attract the audience to the advert and promote the group as a whole as intended. The five star rating is also an aspect which grasps attention at a first glance, if the audience see the five star rating they are more likely to look at the rest of the advert. It shows the main title of the group as well as the song name typical of pop genre magazine adverts. The pink colour is also the same as the font on the digipak so if the magazine advert is seen it will be easier for the audience to recognise the digipak if they see it. This combination is very effective as there is a high similarity in both the ancillary texts and the main music video which shows the typical codes and conventions of a pop genre but at the same time is highly unique.
