A database is an organized, integrated and interrelated collection of computer based data. It is a collection of information that is organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed, and updated. In one view, databases can be classified according to types of content: bibliographic, full-text, numeric, and images.

COMPUTER NETWORKS
LAN: is a local area network that has range of less than 10 kilometers. Computers in this network are linked by telephone cable or fiber optic cable. For e.g network used within a small campus.

MAN: is metropolitan area network with in a range of 10 to 100 km. It uses specific telephone line or fiber optic cable.
WAN: is wide area network with a starting range of 100 km it uses mostly satellite link. It covers a country or continent.

INTERNET OR WORD WIDE WEB (www)


The Internet can be defined as the wired or wireless mode of communication through which one can receive, transmit information that can be used for single or multiple operations.

HTML: is a markup language contains clear instruction on how documents are to be formatted. HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages.

JAVA: allows highly interactive web pages. Using java you design a web page. Java allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few. It's also integral to the intranet applications and other e-business solutions that are the foundation of corporate computing.

MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia is a computer-based interactive communications process that incorporates text, graphics, sound, animation, and video. Digital Signal: A signal in which the original information is converted into a string of bits before being transmitted. A radio signal, for example, will be either on or off. Digital signals can be sent for long distances and suffer less interference than Analog signals.
