The components of a computer are all the hardware that makes up the computer system. These hardware are inclusive of:
Input devices System Output Devices

Storage Devices

Communication Devices

An input device is any hardware component that allows you to enter data and instructions into the computer Example of input devices are:

Output devices are used to show information that is being put into the computer, three common output devices are: Printers- produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper Monitors- displays text and graphics on screen Speakers- allows you to hear audio eg.music

A system unit is the main part, processing unit and devices, of a microcomputer. A system unit includes a board called a motherboard that holds a microprocessor chip (or a CPU), memory chips, and expansion slots. A system unit includes the following parts:

Motherboard Microprocessor Memory

Chips System Clock Buses

These are devices used to store information for future use. some examples of storages devices are:

USB Flash Drive Hard disk

Floppy disk drive

Communication Devices are used by a computer to communicate with other computers, examples of communication devices are: Modem Microphones Speakers P C Video Cameras
