Matlab & MATLAB & Visual Visual Nastran Nastran Matlab & MATLAB & Visual Visual Nastran Nastran Integration Integration

This document discusses integrating MATLAB and Visual Nastran to allow simultaneous simulation. Visual Nastran is a CAE tool that can import CAD files and perform dynamic analysis, heat transfer analysis, and stress FEM analysis. It is more user friendly than SimMechanic in MATLAB and provides graphical outputs, though it is less efficient for using MATLAB functions. The basic rule is that Visual Nastran acts as the mechanical plant, with meters as sensors, bodies connected by joints or constraints, and actuators connecting to ground. Integration is achieved using the V.N 4D's block, and examples of integrated 1D mass-spring control and inverse pendulum models are provided.

An MSC.visualNastran Desktop library is inserted as a block (vNPlant) into the Simulink model during installation process, allowing feedback between the control system and the dynamic model.
