Students distinguish between examples of systems of equations that have one solution, no solution, and infinitely many solutions (Construct a Concept) 3. Students understand what the solution to a system of equations means (Discover a Relationship) 4. Students can solve an equation by graphing. (Algorithmic skill) 5. Students recognize the advantages and simplicity of graphing functions to solve them (Appreciation). 5. Students will acknowledge that solving an equation algebraically will obtain the same answer as locating it graphically. (Discover a Relationship) 6. Students can solve an equation by substitution. (Algorithmic skill) 7. Students can solve an equation by elimination. (Algorithmic skill) 8. Students create their own real-life word problems where the techniques for solving systems of equations can be applied to solve them. (Application) 9.
