Computer Project Gantt Charts: Task Earliest Start Length Type Dependent On..

The document outlines the tasks, schedule, dependencies and resources required to complete a computer project over 10 weeks, including high level analysis, hardware installation, programming of core and supporting modules, quality assurance testing, and training. It analyzes the critical path and notes that activities L and M can be delayed by one week without impacting the overall schedule. By drawing this Gantt Chart, we can see that if all goes well, this project will be complete in 10 weeks. If we want to complete the task as rapidly as possible, first we need 1 analyst for the first 5 weeks. Second we need 1 programmer for 5 weeks starting week 4. Third is needed 1 programmer/QA expert for 3 week starting week 6. By the way, activities L and M have been moved back a week. This does not affect the critical path, but it does mean that a single programming/QA resource can carry out all three of activities K, L and M Analysis, development and testing of supporting modules are essential activities that must be completed on time. Hardware installation and commissioning is not time critical- as long as it completed before the Core Module Training start. If we completed the work step by step, our project will run smooth and safely.
