Pre-reading (7 minutes)

Cards with pictures

Teacher pastes the cards with picture on the board. Pupils are asked to paste the correct words for each picture given.

While reading (25 minutes)

Reading a short text about Erics family Answering the comprehension questions.

Teacher distributes the short text on Erics family to the pupils. Pupils are asked to read the text loudly together with the teacher.

To establish purpose for reading.

Text Task sheet (blank family tree diagram)

Pupils are asked to answer the simple comprehension based on the text. Pupils are asked to

complete the sentences using suitable words given. Post-reading (20 minutes) Cutting and pasting activity Teacher distributes the blank tree diagrams and pictures related to family to the pupils. Pupils have to cut the pictures and paste them into the boxes given in the tree diagram. Pupils write the correct words below the pictures. Closure (5 minutes) Summarization of the lesson Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking pupils what they have learnt and how they feel about their family members.
