CALIBRATION PROCEDURE

1. PURPOSE The purpose of this procedure is to define the steps that ACME follows in maintaining and calibrating equipment. 2. SCOPE This procedure applies to all company personnel who are responsible for planning, development, use, and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS) Widget Ltd. 3. DEFINITIONS None 4. REFERENCES 4.1 Quality Manual. 5. ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS 5.1 Quality System Database 6. PROCEDURE All equipment used in the production of products shall be properly calibrated and/or maintained. All production related equipment is maintained in the main quality system database. From the main menu, select Calibration and maintenance Records. Each record includes:

Tracking Number. This tracking number is also on the equipment. Equipment Description, type, Manufacturer and Model Location - Calibration requirements Calibration interval with justification for the interval Calibration Procedure Calibration History Calibration Due

The database shows all due and past-due calibration requirements. Each piece of equipment is due for calibration based on the lead-time defined for the instrument. Each piece of equipment should be serviced based on the service description. These records are maintained by the quality department. Any equipment that is past the calibration due date must be pulled from production and kept in a secure area until it is calibrated.
