INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
This part of the the design document for the conveyor gallery 10A/B comprises of the analysis and design of the gallery portion( 8.050m Wide). This is a double conveyor gallery housing 10A&10B. This conveyor gallery operates between JT8 at a distance of 36.00m from JT9. This conveyor gallery is supported by VGTU at distance 14.957m from JT8.
Walk way width at the ends are1000mm while in between the the two conveyors it is 1200mm width. 6 O/P Chequered plate has been provided on the walkway.Seal plate has been provided below the conveyor belt through out the length of the gallery. MGT for which angle of inclination is between 6degrees to 12 degrees, 6mm antiskid bars @ 300mm CRS provided. and for the angle of inclination >12 degrees stepped walkway has been provided. All major components of the conveyor gallery like purlins, side runners, roof truss, walkway Channel, gallery girder, Cross beam, top & bottom chord bracing and end portal frame are designed seperately and the same has been presented in this document.
ANALYSIS AND DESIGN METHODOLOGY The purlins, side runners and walkway channels are analysed & designed as three span continuous members. The roof truss has been analysed seperately in STAAD considering one end pinned and other end roller support. As the openings in conveyor gallery is less than 20% internal pressure coefficient considered for design is +/-0.5. Roof truss is designed for the combination of loads of Dead load, Live load, wind load. The cross beam has been arranged on the gallery such that the short posts are directly supported on these cross beams. In some location where cross beams are not available, separate beams are provided longitudinally to support such short posts. The cross beams are checked for natural frequency to avoid the resonance condition in the structure. The main gallery girder has been analysed & designed as plane frame model. The loads from roof truss and cross beams are transferred on to the MGT. The End Portal is analysed seperately as 2D model. Loads from the MGT analysis, Top & Bottom Chord reactions are applied on the end portal frame . The wind loads are calculated for the roof truss has been proportionately taken and applied on the end portal.
LOAD COMBINATIONS Various load combinations considered are: DL+LL DL+LL+ML DL+WL DL+LL+ML+WL 0.9DL+WL Since in this type of structures Lumped masses are very less, Seismic will not govern as compared to Wind which depends on the exposed area of obstruction. Hence the effect of wind will be critical than seismic. The following Galleries have been analysed and designed. 1. 14.957m span gallery (at height of 65m from FGL) 2. 17.043m span gallery (at height of 70m from FGL)
