Paracetamol 500mg tablet is prescribed to be taken every 9 hours as needed for fever. It is an analgesic and antipyretic that works by blocking pain impulse generation and relieving fever through action in the hypothalamus. It is indicated for mild pain or fever and should not be repeatedly used by those with liver or kidney disease as it can cause hepatic damage, toxic anemia, or rash.

Paracetamol 500mg 1tab q9* PRN for FEVER

Action
Classifictaion: Analgesic and antipyretic Mechanism of Action: Produces analgesia by blocking generation of pain impulses. This action is probably caused by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis: it may also be cause by inhibition of the synthesis: it may also be caused by inhibition of the synthesis or action of other substances that sensitize pain receptors to mechanical or chemical stimulation. It relieves fever by central action in the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

Indication
Mild pain or fever.

Has no significant antiinflammatory effect.

Repeated use is Hepatic: Severe liver contraindicated in damage with toxic anemia. Or renal doses. or hepatic disease. Skin: rash, urticaria.
