    It was found approximately in 500BC. It was first found in Ratnapura, the city of gems by mining. The person who first found the blue sapphire is unknown. Just a 12 carat Ceylon Blue sapphire is worth US$ 500,000 today. It was very valuable and its still valuable, its worn by many Kings and Queens such as on the Queen of England s crown.
