If a user on a floating server needs access to a license when not connected to the floating server, an administrator can generate a two-week Temporary Check-Out License. The number of checks-out license allowed is equal to the number of seats purchased on the floating license.

How to Generate Check-Out License


This document serves as a guide to generate a check-out license. If a user on a floating server needs access to a license when not connected to the floating server, an administrator can generate a two-week temporary check-out license with similar products as those available on the floating server. Temporary check-out licenses are only available for floating-license types. The number of check-out license allowed is equal to the number of seats purchased on the floating license. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 : : : : : Log on to the Altera Self-Service Licensing Center. Navigation: www.altera.com > Support > mySupport Enter your logon name and password. 1) Click the Self-Service Licensing Center link 2) Click the Create New License link In the Create New License screen, click the Temporary Check-Out License link. In the Get Check-Out License screen, select the computer with the software licenses you need for two weeks. Select the computer by clicking the Enter NIC ID button. In the Provide Check-Out License screen, enter the NIC ID for the temporary host. Click the Get Check-Out License button. The system will prompt a message that the request is successful and the license file will be sent via email.
