The Annual Byzantine Studies Conference was held from November 15-20, 2012 at the University of Michigan. The conference provided a forum for presenting and discussing current research on Byzantine history and culture. Two items from the University of Michigan collections, including a papyrus fragment and Byzantine codex, were to be discussed in papers at the conference. Graduate students presenting papers who did not live near the conference location were eligible for partial reimbursement of travel expenses. The conference was organized by the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology at the University of Michigan.

November 15-20, 2012 Annual Byzantine Studies Conference The Byzantine Studies Conference is an annual forum for the

presentation and discussion of papers embodying current research on all aspects of Byzantine history and culture. Two items from University of Michigan collections will be discussed in papers given at the conference: the smaller of two fragments of an early papyrus roll with a later Byzantine codex (Ms. 50). Graduate students giving papers at the Byzantine Studies Conference who do not reside in the area of the conference are entitled to partial reimbursement of travel expenses.
