Davis Paper
The purpose of this activity is to make class fun! If you are bored in class and need something to do, drawing toast is the best option to entertaining yourself. These are the four simple steps to drawing a piece of beautiful toast on your paper. Duration of activity: approximately 2 minutes Parts you will need: y y y y College rule, lined paper One ball point pen or a sharpened pencil These instructions Optional: a ruler
note: you will be using the lines on the paper to your advantage Instructions: 1. Take the pen and draw a straight line that is perpendicular to one of the lines on the paper. You will draw the line down the page from one line to a third line below it. The line you are drawing will approximately be the length of two spaces (or from line one to line three on the piece of paper.) You will be drawing a second, parallel line approximately one inch to the right of the first line you drew. Use photo 1 for reference. 2. Your will be drawing the base of the piece of toast. Start at the bottom of the first line you drew and draw a perpendicular line to the bottom of the second line you drew. This should form a box without a top. Use photo 2 for reference. 3. At the top of the drawing, draw dot in between the two lines you drew in step 1. The dot will be located between the tops of the lines. Reference photo 3 for accuracy. 4. For the top of the toast, you will be drawing two humps that connect in the center at the dot in step 3. Start the pen on the first parallel line and draw convex arc to the dot in the middle. Start at the dot and draw another convex arc to the second parallel line. This will form a round m at the top of your toast. If you want to waste another minute, you can add some shading like in photo 5, or a smiley face.
You now have a perfect drawing of toast on your paper, and you have wasted approximately two minutes of class time. Enjoy your drawing!
