Learning Outcome

I analyzed my leadership style using Quinn's competing values framework and found I have a responsive, creative, caring, and empathetic style. I am a transformational leader who considers emotions, sets collaborative direction, and has a collaborative style working in partnership to generate discussion and informed decisions. I am also motivational, using my happy and fun personality to generate motivation amongst colleagues. This change management project increased my awareness of the necessary steps and theory for undertaking reviews and evaluations of change in a structured way that considers organizational culture and systems to reduce chaos.

When I analysed Quinns competing values framework of leadership I portrayed my leadership style as one towards a responsive, open style.

I found that I met the descriptors of being creative and clever, yet caring and empathetic. I articulated that; 1. I am a Transformational Leader - in that I always consider the emotions of others and set collaborative direction; 2. I have a Collaborative style I always work in partnership with others and generate discussion and interest in order to generate informed decisions. 3. I am Motivational I am always happy and fun loving and use these traits to generate motivation amongst my colleagues. In continuing through this change management unit I have been able to reflect on these points and consider them related to work I undertake. This change management project has raised my awareness of the fundamental steps, and literature theory, necessary to undertake these reviews and evaluations, yet do so in an appropriate manner and in consideration of the chaos that can result through change where due effort is not directed towards structure, culture and systems.
