I made it over to Esthetica, which was fun, but also just more of the same really. Their wear this, not that app helps research the market and gives you fa cts about brands, their <a href="http://www.ecouterre.com/fashioning-change-an-o nline-tool-that-helps-you-wear-this-not-that/">policies and practices</a>. As ti me goes by customers will want to know more about their products and retailers w ill have to supplier that information. I think they are on to a winner there.</p > <p style="text-align: justify;">Companies are now facing tighter regulations acr oss both the environment and ethical spheres. <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk /sustainable-business/blog/regulating-supply-chain-sustainability">Recent change s in law</a> mean that companies are now legally bound to ensure their suppliers follow ethical practices. Combating corruption, disclosing the origins of miner als such as gold, tin and tungsten to ensure they are not from conflict areas an d preventing issues such as people trafficking and illegally logged timber have all been address through legislation over the recent years A trend that will onl y continue. &#0160;In addition, companies must start meeting &quot;soft&quot; la w requirements, such as the revised OECD guidelines on multinational enterprises and the UN guiding principles on business and human rights adopted in May and J une 2011 respectively.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The 54 mile bike ride has left me with very sore legs but the desire to do more long distance riding and to one day conquer that <a href="http://www.helraisers.org.uk/L2B2003detail.html">hill of death</a> at the end remains. So while I rest my weary legs, until summer probably, I thought that I would take a look at what else is going on in the bike&#0160;world. Appa rently its all about wooden bikes now. Wh en talking about issues such as climate change, its about learning and adapting b ehaviour to limit our impact and better prepare for the problems that will arise from changing weather patterns. Instead of waiting for the technology to land o n our lap, this time we have to be a little bit more proactive about finding sol utions. The Climate Reality Project, led by Al Gore, is a fantastic program show ing how the changes will affect people and climate and it pulls no punches.
