Q.3 Why dangerous quardrant lies fwd half of the dangerous semicircle ?
1 ) + This is the forward half of the dangerous semi circle
+ The path of the TRS is likely to turn in this direction once attaining the latitude of
recurvature and thus
placing the vessel forward of the trough line. 19
+ The winds are strongest in this quadrant because of the steep pressure gradient due to the
closing up of the
isobars just prior to recurvature on the polar side
+ The direction of he wind is so as to move the vessel towards the storm centre and closer to
more violent
weather.

atlantic. the likes of canary currents and all.

Q.6 What was my vsl last sea speed , so now u r in Malacca straits , suddenly heavy rain
causing restricted visibility , action , what is your safe speed.
1 ) due to sudden rain / squall i will not reduce my speed unless visibility has been affected
by fog. i will though keep my engines on manouvering speed as malacca strait is a busy and
congested area for navigation

2 ) restricted visibility condition also includes heavy rain moreover surveyor himself has said
that heavy rainfall has caused RV..that means vsl shall proceed at safe speed and shall have
her engines ready for immediate manoeuver

alongside a quay, the construction of which is not sufficiently robust to permit ranging of the
