11th November 2011, Jerry Morris Room, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Enlivening Archives is a one-day workshop aimed at post-graduate students and researchers designed to question the nature of archives and how they are used. The day will consist of a varied selection of papers from archivists and historians talking about archives in the London area. They will discuss which archives are available, the types of sources we can access and the methodological implications of using these sources. Topics of discussion will include: The contents of local archives The use of objects as sources The future of archives in the current economic climate
At the end of the workshop, a round table discussion will be held to discuss the themes and issues which have arisen during the event. Enlivening Archives is hosted by the Centre for History in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine with generous support from the Wellcome Trust. If you would like to attend the day, or for more information, please contact us on [email protected]. Due to limitations of space, attendance is 5 for students and 10 for non-students.
