Excel Examination

You are to use Microsoft Excel to modify a spreadsheet that shows movie budget and profit data.
You must use formulas and/or functions to perform the calculations.

1. Download file "Initial-1.xls" from http://www.esnips.com/web/pkru

2. Insert three blank rows at the very top of the spreadsheet.

3. Starting in row 3, column A, enter the following column titles (using bold and uppercase letters)
in this order from left to right: “NO”, “MOVIE NAME”, “MOVIE TYPE”, "TICKETS SOLD", and
"TICKET PRICE".

4. Center the column headings.

5. Make the columns wide enough so that each column title has no more than two words per line.
Make sure no words are split between two lines.

6. insert a column labeled “REVENUE” (use bold and uppercase letters). After the “TICKETS
SOLD" and “TICKET PRICE” columns

7. In the “REVENUE" column, create a formula that calculates the money received via ticket sales
(“TICKETS SOLD x TICKET PRICE”). Calculate this value for all the movies.

8. Sort the spreadsheet by “MOVIE TYPE” in alphabetical order from A to Z.

9. Enter the row title “AVERAGE” in cell B14 (right-justify using bold and uppercase letters).

10. In row 14, use the AVERAGE function to calculate the average amount for columns D, E and
F Make each average bold.

11. Change all cells to Arial font, size 12.

12. Autofit the "PRODUCER" column.

13. Format the numbers in the "REVENUE" and "TICKET PRICE" columns as currency with 2
decimal places.

14. In cell B1 enter your name.

15. In cell B2 enter the date.

16. Center the data in cells B1 and B2.

17. Create a clustered column chart that uses the following data: “MOVIE NAME”, “TICKETS
SOLD", and “REVENUE" on the filtered spreadsheet.

>Title the chart “Tickets Sales” and include your name as part of the title.
>Label the X-axis of the chart “Movie Name”.
>Label the Y-axis of the chart “Revenue”.
>Create the chart as a new sheet.
>Change the font of the producer names to Times New Roman font, size 14.

18. Save this file as your Student ID.
