THE CITY IS LOCATED IN DISTRICT LUDHIANA, WHICH IS THE MOST THE STUDENTS OF M.TECH 3RD SEMESTER ARE REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE THE CENTRALLY LOCATED DISTRICT AMONGEST THE 20 DISTRICTS OF PLANNING PRACTICE EXERCISE SPP (605 -A) PLANNING STUDIO III (SITE PLANNING) PUNJAB STATE. LUDHIANA AS A PART OF OUR COURSE CURRICULUM . THE GROUP IS TO UNDERTAKE IT IS LOCATED ON AMRITSAR-DELHI G.T. ROAD (NH-1) AND AMRITSARTHE PLANNING AND DESIGNING OF A RESIDENTIAL SITE PROPOSED IN THE MASTER AMBALA RAILWAY LINE WHICH ARE CONSIDERED THE BACK BONE OF THE STATE. PLAN OF LUDHIANA (2011-31). THE PROJECTED POPULATION OF THE CITY IS 36,01,490 BY THE YEAR

PROPOSED SITE
THE SITE WILL BE DEVELOPED AS THE RESIDENTIAL SITE PROPOSED AS PER THE GUIDELINES OF THE PROPOSED MASTER PLAN OF LUDHIANA CITY THE MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SITE ARE AS FOLLOWS . THE SITE IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH WEST DIRECTION IN LUDHIANA ALONG GILL ROAD. THE TOTAL AREA OF THE SITE IS 300 ACRE.(AS PER THE PROPOSED MASTER PLAN (2011-31). THE SITE PROPOSED FOR ALONG GILL ROAD WILL BE DEVELOPED IN THE SECOND PHASE OF MASTER PLAN (2016-2020).

THE PROPOSED DENSITY OF THE TOWN IS 120 PERSONS PER HECTARE . AREA UNDER LAND USES. PER HECTARE IN THE PROPOSED MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY . THE RESIDENTIAL AREA IN THE SECTOR CONCEPT OF CHANDIGARH THERE ARE A TOTAL 92 RESIDENTIAL SECTORS PROPOSED IN THE CITY THE APPROXIMATE AREA OF THE ONE SECTOR IS 96 HECTARES .

THE TOTAL AREA UNDER RESIDENTIAL USE IS 52.8% OF THE TOTAL THE PROPOSED DENSITY FOR THE RESIDENTIAL AREA IS 230 PERSONS

INTRODUCTION

NEED OF THE EXERCISE


THE NEED OF THE EXERCISE BASICALLY DEALS WITH THE PLANNING AND DESIGNING OF THE RESIDENTIAL SITE IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF THE MASTER PLAN PROPOSALS . THE LUDHIANA CITY HAS BECOME ENGINE OF ECONOMIC GROWTH GENERATING A LARGE NUMBER OF JOBS AND ATTRACTING NUMEROUS PEOPLE TO LEAD THEIR LIVES. AS MORE AND MORE PEOPLE MOVE TOWARDS URBAN AREAS, EXISTING CITY HAS NO MORE SPACE TO ACCOMMODATE. AS A RESULT, THEY NEED TO MOVE ON OUTSKIRTS WHICH DEMANDS PLANNING OF NEW RESIDENTIAL AREAS. THE MASTER PLAN LUDHIANA ADVOCATES TO DEVELOP THE PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL AREAS TO BE PLANNED ON THE SECTOR CONCEPT BASED UPON CHANDIGARH MODEL . THE RESIDENTIAL SECTORS TO BE DEVELOPED AS SELF SUFFICIENT UNITS HAVING RESIDENTIAL AREA ALONG WITH THE OPEN AREAS , COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC SEMI PUBLIC FACILITIES INCORPORATED IN THE SECTOR. THE PROPOSED DENSITY FOR THE RESIDENTIAL AREA IS 230 PERSONS PER HECTARE IN THE PROPOSED MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY.
