Copy (2) of Copy of Copy of Escape Learning

Escape learning occurs when an organism learns a response that reduces or eliminates an unpleasant stimulus, like a boy moving from a room with a heating unit turned on to an air-conditioned room to escape the heat. Avoidance learning is when an organism learns a response that prevents an unpleasant stimulus, such as a boy avoiding going to the room with the heater knowing it will turn on based on prior experience to avoid feeling hot. Both involve learning responses to remove or avoid aversive stimulation through experience.
